Yeah, I know but Oz thinks that whoever is talking to Crocty, claiming to be the captain is actually a mobster and that the real captain is not around. Either that or Crocty is lying to us. The captain wouldn't dream of revealing his identity here in the forums because he's one of our most powerful tools in the battle against the mafia and is thus a priority target. With him out of the way there's no way of clearing the name of falsely accused/confirming the guilt of the criminal.

On the who lynch/no lynch thing: while I think it'd be a nice idea to have a no lynch option (especially at this early stage in the game) I think it's a bad idea to go changing the rules mid-game. That's just gonna confuse everyone even more.odysseus55
By definition the Police Captain is a townie - and cannot be a mafia.
I believe the accusation is that the person who has “claimed” to be the Captain is actually a lying mafia impersonator… but that would only work if the mayor was ignorant about who the ACTUAL captain is. I can't wrap my head around that level of intrigue, though, so I won't speculate.
