Greetings, Fowl Fiends. It is I, the spectral lamentation known as PIT-FACE!
I have been torn from my lurid sepulcher to inform you dreadful Ducks that your votes have been cast! Behold your ill-fate! The theme for the Drunk Duck anthology is:

HORROR!

That’s right, it’s time to weave your tales of malicious madmen, abyssal atrocities, and disembodied darlings! However, even the most evil eggs must follow the guidelines for submission.

Here are the tasty tidbits:

1.) Theme: The theme is horror. It can be campy, cute, slasher, gothic, whatever as LONG as it follows the theme. If you’re not sure, ask the editors!

2.) The Pitch: Pitches will be open from Aug. 1st until Aug. 31st. We are expecting a high number of submissions so please be sure to follow the guidelines for pitching laid out below:

Where to send the pitch: drunkduckanthology@gmail.com
Title your email using PITCH(username-date)
Example, my email title would be: PITCH-damehelsing-8/1/2020 (this is for organization purposes.)

Information to include in your email:
- Who’s working on it. (Your duck-username/your name)
- If you are under 18.
- How many pages will you need (Remember, you can use anything from 1 page to 16 pages max.)
- What is the beginning – middle – end of your story?
- Is your story SFW or NSFW.
- Let us know your rating: E (for everyone) – A (for adults only)
- Illustrations: send us your thumbnails, doesn’t need to be a concrete idea, after all it’s a thumbnail!

3.) Format and guidelines: These are short stories that will be published in a DIGITAL format. We may eventually consider print but that would be a ways down the road if ever. Still, we need a uniform format. So be sure that your finished pages will be:

Use ka-blam’s sizing for 7”x10.5” for your pages, with submissions being in 300dpi RGB .tiff formats ( https://ka-blam.com/main/standard-sized-page-template/ )
Double page spreads are fine
1-16 pages
Full color, black and white, or tones are all fine
Stories must be stand alone, they can tie into your comic, but please make sure it’s readable to those unfamiliar with your work.
ONE submission per person with the exception of one collab per person
If you are using any characters, names, etc that you have not created, then they MUST BE FAIR USE!
Only members of The Duck may submit work

Finally:
THIS IS A FUNDRAISER TO HELP THE DUCK WEBSITE! All proceeds go to The Duck and its upkeep, including site upgrades! The rights of the works submitted belong to those who create them and The Duck does not claim rights beyond permission to publish the submitted works in the anthology. We DO ask that if you do have work featured in the anthology that you do not publish that entire work elsewhere at least while the money for the site upgrade is being raised. This is simply a request that we humbly ask of you so that this community project can be as successful as possible. Enticing snippets of your work may be a good idea, though!

Participants will not be paid but will receive a digital copy of the anthology!

- Editors: damehelsing(aka Aggie), bluecuts34(aka Mal), PIT-FACE, reserve the right to reject your pitch or ask for alterations if it is nonpunishable.

- Your pitch is NOT your submission. Submissions will begin starting September 1st. (more information will come for when submissions open)

- Just for fun, we request that you include a duck hidden somewhere in your story or illustrations. ;]

A word from Damehelsing:
I, damehelsing, am extending my abilities to any creators who end up struggling during this anthology, whether it is an art block or writer’s block. I will not write or draw your story/illustration for you, but I will offer red-lines, potential ideas based off of yours and some overall guidance.
If you take me up on this offer please PQ me and from that point on we can establish a better way to contact each other. However, I will say this now, if at any point giving assistance proves really difficult either from clashing ideas, disrespect or lack of communication, I do reserve the right to back out and let you handle your work on your own since I too will also be participating in this anthology and will need my own time as well.
Editors also follow the same guidelines as participants.

Don’t forget you can now advertise on DrunkDuck for just $2 in whichever ad spot you like! The money goes straight into running the site. Want to know more? Click this link here! Or, if you want to help us keep the lights on you can sponsor us on Patreon. Every bit helps us!

Special thanks to our patrons!!

why don't YOU pitch that story, Bravo? ;)

cdmalcolm1 at 6:08PM, Aug. 2, 2020

I’m horrible at horror. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.

bravo1102 at 2:12PM, Aug. 2, 2020

Please someone do a classic 1960s Hammer type horror in lurid color. Also be nice to be a 1930s-40s BW piece, dark, creepy and all implied.
