Ayes, that sounds baaaaad. Those Drs and Nurses are probably just really badly managed.

FARK! I have these pulsing pains in the frontal right part of my head. Not a headache, just bad “icecream headache” type shooting, pulsing pains that oo on for about 5 or ten minutes and then stop.
Not gonna take painkillers for them though. Had enough of those with headaches yesterday. Need a break from those for a looooong while.
Phew! Gone again. …for now. -_-

On multitasking, they address it quickly in the fatuous British Mythbusters type show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBFwKlDWaOE things independently that couldn't really be a true multitasking factor… Not unless you have two different brains other either side.
So there we go.

Ice? Maybe, but something new I got from the Doctors and nurses last time I was in the ER for a super hurge mega evil vomit-till-you're-a-diried-up-prune-dead-person killerache:
Heat.

Put something warm on the area. It opens up the blood vessles wider and helps reduce the preasure.
Also: being as far upright as you can. Again,it helps reive the pressure.
All totally counter intuative from the ususal lay down, cold on head srt of thing you'd naturally do. But it does seem to help.

Well, Banes and I just finished the Quackcast which is an omnibus for the DD soaps. The second omnibus! We had fun being all these different characters. Our fave characters were these two teenage girls… who sound like us being gay men hahaha!

Warm works. Remember the old thing about breathing in steam it'll help headaches in any way caused by sinus problems.

You do know that anything you guys record can then be recycled back into the written bits, especially how those teenaged girls look suspiciously like two guys in drag.

And this week's freak out moment at work… Around 6 am in wheels a resident with dried blood all over his head, blood stains on his shirt. He said he had come to on the floor after falling out of bed. The blood was all dried so he must have been unconscious for awhile so I called 911. Wouldn't you know he insists he wants his walker (he won't need it in the ER) and his jacket (he was shivering) I get him the jacket which the EMTs make him take off again to take his vitals. He's visibly shivering and complaining how cold he is. I'm not an EMT so whatever.

Then he's fighting about going on the backboard. Two EMS and two EMTs can't convince him, but the dopey security guard did by sharing personal experience and expressing the need simply and politely. Makes me wonder if they teach these guys bedside manners. “I” statements and express needs? Not bark orders? “I need you on the backboard” not “You need to go on the backboard”

And there was blood all over the floor in the apartment. It didn't look like he hit anything on the way down but that the gash on his head was from hitting the bare floor. In three years is is like the fourth time or so I've seen this. At least the blood wasn't fresh. Head wounds bleed a lot.

Then the girl who is my reliefcalls to say she'll be a little late. No problem. Her predecessor was late every time. However, she sounded exactly like a woman I had known in college. I had thought she sounded like her but this was eerie. For a moment I thought it was that other woman from 20 years ago. It would be so weird if this woman was the daughter of the woman I knew in college. The similarities are too striking and in things that are mostly behaviorial like gestures, voice and speech patterns not genes because they really don't look alike but their body language is similar. I have been able to tell people I've known simply by their walk even 20 years later so this is nothing special for me.

Sounds like those poor buggers need some deep soft carpets… Harder to get the blood off, but hopefully there wouldn't BE any in the first place.
With those EMTs I don't think it's about training, I think it's about being a bad person to begin with. People who treat others that way usually do it all the time in all situations. Badly socialised.

——–

I wanted a nice lie-in on my Easter Monday but there were constant knocks at the front door, ringing the door bell and the phone…
When I finally got out of bed and listened to the answering machine it turned out a big tree branch had come down into the neighbour's backyard.
This was a biiiig branch, on a gumtree… It was one that an expert was going to come and remove with equipment for about $400 or $500 all up.
In the end it took matters into its own hands…
So I've been awing it up all day with the neighbour since his entire back yard was full of foliage.
Most of the weight of the fall was luckily caught by a smaller tree and the top of the fence. The lattice was smashed and the ridge-capping, but the fence is fine. PHEW!!!!!
I straightened up as much of the lattice as I could.

Those redgums are fricken murderous trees. Huge healthy branches fall on still nights (or days!), with no wind at all and no warning. I think there have been more deaths from those in the history of this country than all the snakes and spiders combined.

heh… forgot to pay my power bill so I've been living the past five days in a dark house with almost no internet. Luckily one of the local gas stations has free WiFi so I've been going there to read th forums every few nights. Found out one thing though… I couldn't post to the forum via my Nintendo 3DS. I would get that box, but I couldn't type anything into it. Oh, well… I've got my power back on. If I don't forget to I'll probably invest in a calender and put a large sign to not to forget paying my bills. :)

Could've been worse… I could've forgotten to pay my internet bill. :)

no… wait… I actually did once… :(

Cant' do it. There's no option to disable javascript. I guess if I'm surfing the web with the 3DS I should just be satisfied with reading the DD forums. :)

those can be interesting, interesting times. when i was living in CT we lost power twice for a spell and i got along pretty much the same way you are. well we had a generator, but those are a bitch on gas. but ya find that as long as it's not horribly freezing and you have some place you can pilfer the net from, despite it's a little bit of a nussance to get there some times, it's a liveable situation. can be a major pain, but it's livable. you get to appreciate flash lights when youre alone at night. but ya at least feel a little bit more rugged for the experience eh? ;)
Oz, what's going on in your head sounds weird. im not a doctor, but if it persists, id consider getting it checked out, or hell, at least eat ice cream too fast so you can give it a reason to act like that. good luck man.

The real question is: why AREN'T you all dressed as maids?
I know Pitface is. …as an Iron Maiden at least.
You guys should follow her example!

Don't worry Pit, just my stupid head and it's headache. No serious issues, it's just full of stupid :(
I did eat a lot of icecream the other night though. It was delicious!
Congrats on your new family member! ^_^

I guess I lucked out. I have a 300 watt power inverter in my car and I was using it to keep my 3DS and cell phone charged up while the power in my house was out. I've had it for a while and it has always helped during those times when power was out for extended periods… such as when a supertyphoon smacked us so hard we had no power for a month…
And I still remember the power company charging us for services we COULD HAVE been using during that time (which I thing was just totally wrong… making us pay for power we didn't get)…

I'd edit the last post I made, but that would mess up the quote (and it's messy to fix that again). Anyways…

Got that new update for ME3 (it's free) and it's got a gun I really REALLY want to use in multiplayer. It's called…

The Kishack Harpoon Gun!!!

Getting shot with this baby would give any one a very bad day… :)

And it also lets you play as an Asari Justicar Adept, a Krogan Vanguard (Battlemaster?),a Geth Inflitrator, and… a Batarian Sentinel…

Anyone else getting these ads?

I'm asking because THEY'RE DRIVING ME INSANE!!!

Every time your mouse touches them, they scream out, and I mean SCREAM: “SAY SOMETHING!” or “OH MY GOD! NO WAY!!!”

And notice how they're fucking positioned!!! Every time I want to go to a different tap, I have to naviage around the top banner ad, so that I don't get yelled at again. And let's say I wished to press the forum button; I'd have to carefully edge my way between the two screaming pictures, hoping that I don't arouse their slumber. Every time I'm not thinking about it… “OH MY GOD! NO WAY!/SAY SOMETHING!!!”
I'm normally a tolerant fellow but these things have been popping up on this site for months now. I'm so sick of them. They make me avoid comming here and I now wish to be personaly responsible for ensuring the demise of the company that made them.
Those were my two cents.

today I discovered a floater in my right eye. I already had one in my left (for many years).
But I can't say it's a matching pair. The left eye is more like a fruit fly, and the right eye is like a spider with broken legs.

There's a floater in my right eye that looks like a worm. I keep asking the eye doctor if it's really just a floater and not a parasite living off the fluid in my eye…

Just got back from a week of being poked and prodded by a specialist, trying to figure out why my ankle doesn't seem to be healing as fast as it should. Turns out, I managed to sprain it far worse than initially thought and then being made to run on it only made the damage worse. I've been effectively told that if I do it again, I'm risking a good chance of permanent injury. I'm usually not the most apt to listen when a doctor tells me such things, since I'd rather just go by “does it feel right again”, but I think this time I'll shut up and listen. The words “permanent, crippling injury” don't sound too pleasant.

I've also decided I'm going to give myself the challenge of creating a 2“ x 3” comic book. I started playing with the idea of seeing if it's possible to create a legible, understandable comic at that size on the train ride home, and I think I can maybe manage to cram 3-4 panels into a page that size. It's projects like this one that make me prefer taking a train to flying. Much more relaxed, and you're way more likely to meet interesting people. For instance, this particular trip I met Kenny Chesney's ( He's an American country music star. ) accountant, and I have to say, she's pretty good looking. Good enough looking that I'd have contemplated hitting on her if I ever thought I'd find myself in Nashville, Tennessee. I've met a few other cool people too over the last couple years since I started taking the train, like a world war two vet who fell in love with riding trains going across Europe in the later part of the war, and a guy who said he was on his way to DC to try and get a job working for the Smithsonian. I get the impression that there's probably a lot of cool people on the plane too, but the environment isn't all that conducive to sitting down and having a chat with them.

And I'm going to stop now, before I take off on a full-on sleep-deprived babble-rant.

when someone says floater i automatically think of a corpse or a floating turd in a toilet and sadly enough, for a split second i though “what's she doing with poo in her eye?!” mabe yer sight's busted.

You guys really have to have the demographic to get the cool ads. Right now I have London by Virgin Atlantic, traveling to India and Botox. Never have those smiley ads because I'm not in that target demographic.

Ever since I've been to the opthmologist who went over everything about floaters and flashes and sparklers because of my eye surgery I don't worry because I now know what to be truly concerned about as opposed to the normal motes and floaters.

So I let my buffer run out and then shot a bunch of pictures and I have no idea what panels they're for. I started one page and then discovered an entire folder of alternate shots for that same page. So I have no idea what shots are for what panel and can't quite figure out what to edit into panels for the next page. Yuck, times like this why couldn't I have drawn this? Oh yeah I'm doing that for that radio play thing.

Good luck with the comic lba!

I have really boring eyes. I wish I needed glasses sometimes because then I could make them more interesting ^_^
I'd never wear fake ones though. Not unless I was acting or something.

Sooo, I just deleted another spammer… Another one of those fricken weirdos putting up links to Muslim prayer sites. WTF?
I'm all for freedom of religion but religious spam is something else >_<

On that spammer note though… they're getting pretty rare around here. Not many sign-ups or attempts to do stuff anymore. Heh, is it just because I'm more efficient now or have we reached an unprecedented stage of decline where even the spammers can't be bothered with us any longer?
LOL, they should've changed the name of this place from “The Duck” to “DuckSpace”. ^_^

Roighty. I've steeled myself to undertake another DD soap scripting. I find those quite daunting now. But I shall press on ahead regardless! For Queen and country!
