He didn't get it, he claimed that korosu told him himself that he (or she) was mafia. We know that was a lie now because korosu wasn't mafia.

But how does Harkovast fit with the clues? I don't think he does. But the lying part makes him bad enough for our town that he should be lynched anyway maybe…

Well here are some pertinent facts:

I, however, do have reason to believe that leaderofstars might have been last night's killer.

Evidence:
1. One of his comics has explicit randomness just like the dream in the narrative.
2. His signature references body parts as ingredients in a stew.
3. He immediately changed his avatar after the first death was announced.

That is pretty good… but the clues are so imprecise, I think until we get better at interpreting them it will be hard to lynch anyone just based on the clues.

Who would want Korosu dead?
1. Harkovast- for some reason he wanted suspicion on Korosu and no one was believing him, so he took matters into his own hads. but that means Harkovast would just get himself in trouble when it was revealed that Korosu was just a townie… unless for some reason Hark really didn't think Korosu was innocent?

2. A vigilante could have targeted Korosu- Korosu was the only obvious target by the end of the day (besides me, ozone, and hark). The vigilante decided hark was more believable than Korosu and wanted to get a jump start and eliminate a mafia while he had the chance… but he turned out to be wrong. Or we could have a vigilante who just wants to kill people, and why not Korosu? It seems we've already got one player who just likes to stir things up, so ‘random’ acts are a possibility.

3. It doesn't make much sense for the mafia to kill Korosu. It would have been to their advantage to have Korosu be suspicious because that would draw attention away from them, they'd know he wasn't a mafia. And Hark probably isn't mafia (unless he's just a really bad one) because suspicion has landed on him with both feet- he's either a lying troublemaker or a mafia trying to get us to second-guess him back into safety. He could be a mafia that the mafia want dead, they can't kill their own… maybe he is too much of a liability with his attention-seeking.

4. We know Korosu was a townie, didn't have a special role, so couldn't have targeted someone at night. So the paranoid didn't kill him.

… there really wasn't much reason for anyone to kill Korosu? Yet he's dead.

Even if it wasn't him, he made up evidence against korosu, that means he's just going to be messing us around and confusing things. Working against us like mafia would anyway, even if he's not one of then.

I am really leaning toward this reasoning right now. I'm not sure we'll be able to conclusively figure out the clues by ‘nightfall’ but now we at least know that there's someone being counterproductive here, which is bad for the town. We may be able to just dismiss harkovast as a crank though, do we need to lynch him?

However as pardoner I'm going to withhold my vote til the end. If it turns out I want to pardon someone I'd rather try and do it with my vote if that's possible, than use up a pardon.

Yes, this is a good idea. We may be following some clues for a long time. Same with no changing profiles, changing recommended comics, etc. Some people have got extremely bare profiles… BK may have a hard time coming up with clues for them, which could either make the clues harder or easier.

I've scoured people's profiles and I haven't come up with much… obviously most (or all) of these people are innocent, I just wanted to be thorough. There is a ton of stuff that seems only vaguely incriminating:


Skullbie has got a mention to vampires (eating necks) in her profile, as well as cats. I don't think the cat thing was a good interpretation of that clue so I'm going to ignore that angle for now.

Mutation's username makes me think of the crazy dream. She's also got this: “'Mutation?' My mind and word shall shift infinately changing”

leaderofstars - talks about randomness a lot in his profile, and one of his comics has ‘random’ in the name. The dream had big battles, and he has fav'd “super smash brothers royale” and makes a comic called “drunk duck war” and “project superhuman”

martino_23 has fav'd ‘Hatpire’, so vampires there. The mario avatar COULD point at video games and then to the batteries not included clue… seems like a stretch though.

Ozoneocean has an assist on “charby the vampirate” and has also fav'd “vampire phantasm” so more vampires. His comic (and a number of things on his profile) has “pinky”… pigs are pink? Pretty weak. He has got a Civil War banner in his sig though. Edited to add: flying boat/murky sea = ozone/ocean ?

Nersop doesn't SEEM to have anything directly, but he's got a picture of Jackie Chan cross-dressing as Chun Li… possibly a reference to the ‘pigs pretending to be men’ part? not likely though… Nersop's videogame avatar could also be a batteries reference, but this seems like more of a stretch than for martinlo, thumbs-up guy is less well known than mario.

Waff's got 2 comics recommended in his profile: “Unsound of Mind” and “South of Sanity” which makes me think of the dream too. His avatar is also the crazy hobo.

SpANG has got recommended comics “Random Thoughts” and “Surreal Adventures” … he also recommends “The Leftovers” AND “Hungry Hungry hipsters” which reminds me of the eating part. The dream talks about a climactic battle and Spang has lots of sueprhero comics fav'd. And again he seems to be the only one connected to “Doctor” with his Dr Who video. huh… not looking great for Spang.

Vakanai also has some ‘battles’ in his profile, his comic is named “Rumbles.” He also recommends ‘putrid meat’- the cannibalism maybe?

As mentioned before, and as unhappy as it makes me… I've got a comic with “Pig” in the title, and I've also got a comic named “Made-Up Stories” which is kind of like the dream… and I guess ‘lawyer to the supernatural’ might point at vampires?

i know this will only lump more shushpicion onto myself but i feel i should give information about my avatar. he is doctor hobo a character in the comic vgcats and before i found out that we shouldn't change our aviesh i wash planning on using a picture of him using a shquirell as a mobile phone (squish), also in the firsht comic he appearsh in he talks about eating babiesh and and using forks for something and gets a spoon stuck in his ear

If it makes you feel any better. I would suspect a lot of other people before I would suspect you. The clues only minorly point to you and there are a lot of better connections.

OK, I just want to say that just because Hark is promising to be good doesn't mean he will be, he's already gotten someone killed. Hark, you look lynch-able because you've made yourself stand out as someone untrustworthy. The town might just want to get you out of the way to save uncertainty and headaches later.

Hark may not have killed Korosu but that doesn't mean he couldn't still possibly be a mafia, either. It could be a plan of his to have gotten someone (unluckily Korosu) killed without incriminating himself in game clues, make an idiot of himself so no one would believe he's a clever mafia, and then turn around and act apologetic and get people's trust back. I'm just saying. People's perceptions can be manipulated, but game clues could lead to a solution.

I'm not taking any sides yet but that also means I'm taking no-one's side lol!

Until we get definite clues it all boils down to a bunch of he said-she said and who do you have a better feeling about… which I don't think is that great of reasoning to lynch people on, but neither is it a great basis for trusting.
