yay gym time. i want to say good things about it, or certain parts of my body, but everytime i compliment my own working out and lack of injuries i get an injury. so. it's gym time, and i feel content.

Five pages pencilled today again. Not as fast as I'd like it to go, but it'll do. One more page to go on this short story, then I'm scanning all 12 finished pages and inking them.

If I manage to ink 5 a day, it'll mean I can keep up a tempo of 2 full pages a day fairly easily. Although I think it'd be wise to try to do 3 pages whenever I have enough time to tackle another one.

Number 7 on my top 10 most horrifying memories is that time me and my friend went to Dilliards(semi-upscale mall store) and he stepped outside to call his mom. Then this really disgusting neckbeard man sauntered up from the parking lot, put one finger on his nose and a ginormous wad of snot spat from his nose. I almost threw up, the splat on the cement was fucking huge.

Worst part is my friend didn't even see and i have to bear this horror alone. *dabs beaded brow with her dainty neckerchief*

First, that new avatar is really creeping me out.

Second, I've got a big problem. One of my comic files got corrupted. There are ways to recover the file, but I'm not sure what to use, and I'm working on a bit of a budget here. Does anyone know of any good freeware recovery programs?

On the plus side, yesterday made me feel like productivity incarnate: 15 hour work day, and almost all of it was very efficient and with only a handful of small breaks. The activity on my facebook friend feed brought three people asking to give me money, and I was rocking out on a new speed-painting technique for portraits. The downside- I felt like a caricature. The day had been entirely one-dimensional. At the end of it, everything had blurred together and it felt like I'd lived a week… a week of isolated labor. Left me kinda cold. And I woke up 6 hours later, alert and ready to work. I'm not sure if that's heaven or hell.

Katch- Every once and awhile, the pandora station I've been listening to will start playing club music. It's very amusing when the beat synchs up with yer avatar.

Ugh, I need money, but I really just want to sleep, but I also need to wash clothes. -__-. Well, I didn't do much productive today. Just hope I start tonight better than last night.

It's interesting that you're having a heat wave down under because state side we're getting horrible winter storms all over. I forget that the seasons are different depending on the hemisphere.

Honestly, I like to think I'd make a decent superhero. I even have a nifty origin story: my mum and pa met at a class to improve and develop natural psychic abilities. They tried to visualize white light as a contraceptive. It turns out it didn't work. It's like I was from a selective breeding program! Upside: both my parents were very intelligent, observant, had strong tendencies towards empathy, and had generally reliable intuitions. Downside: genetic predisposition towards schizophrenia, psychosis, and depression.

Ha- more to the point, this project has a “ripped from the headlines” angle to it. If uploaded three times a week, it'd last 33 weeks. Daily updates would be 14 weeks. The news that inspired it is already kinda stale. So I'm putting up a chapter at a time, with plans for one page fillers for weekly release until another big event inspires me or I pull one of the background stories from my notes. If I waited for regular updates, I'd hamstring my ability to mock current events! Besides, as a reader I prefer reading chunks at a time, so I'm catering to the approach I'd enjoy…

I wish I could do 50 pages a day! All I did was two pages of inks today… it's what I get for not spending enough time on pencils, then the inking stage gets unnecessarily long (like the word “unnecessarily” itself) cause I have to redraw things way too often. Still, that's my fourth short comic this year and first in b/w…

So 2 down, 50 to go! And then the BIG ONE! the BIIIIG ONE THE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG ONE!

Other than the shit feeling and stuff, I have nothing else to say.

It's that time of year, when i say “I'm going to start up ninja wedding again” and then sit around staring at a paper, because i created the strip as a joke, as my friend was considering getting married. Then turned into a drama, as my wife left me. Basically, all the inspiration for the comic is years separated from me now.

I've been thinking for the past several weeks “Gosh, I'm the most unthoughtful person ever!” because I couldn't come up with a good gift to buy for this stupid holiday.

Then it occurred to me that I've actually been thinking really seriously about it and thus I am in fact highly thoughtful, it's just that I'm really unromantic. So I bought liquor! I am going to win at holidays.

Yay i had a fun night. Got third place in the tournament and would have gotten second if it weren't for a single bad play…FAILURE

Ugh, I goofed off all weekend and now I really don't have enough time left to do everything I need to do tonight. The drunk duck stuff alone is gonna take me at least 2 hours. Then I have to do phone calls, so there goes another couple hours. Somehow I need to fit dinner in there. I guess I'm not gonna get any art done tonight. Or any Dead Space 2.

Part of my problem is naps… I think “oh it's the weekend, I can take a 1 hour nap” but without fail I sleep through the alarm and wake up 3-4 hours later. What's up with that, when did naps get so dangerous to take?
