Jack's so lonely after we took his bitches from him and put them in the main pen to heal. But what can you do? All that violent rape took the feathers off their backs. The other two Easter roosters (white Americauna not included) got their own makeshift pen in the big pen's door so the other ones can grow their feathers back too.

Awww, too cute! What's his(or her?) name? Was he an impulse adoption(my family is really bad for that, which is why we have 8 pets) or unwanted somewhere?

March 2010 is my personal record for most miles ran in a single month, 54.5. I want to destroy that. currently, i have 44 miles. And am only scheduled for 11 more miles. That's not destruction. Next month i want 60+ miles

It looks just like my old dog sassy <3 d'awwww

—————

I was sitting in the doctors office today and chickens just seemed to find me. I picked up a random local magazine and the very page I flipped to was talking about the egg industry! It went into the different types of ways eggs are produced locally:

Free range: Chickens can run around on a farm.
Barn free: Chickens live entire lives in barns. On one hand they get freedom and movement, but another another living conditions are unsanitary and death toll is humongous.
Battery cages: These are pretty sick…the death toll is very low but they can't even flap their wings or get sunlight. The article had the a guy boasting about how his death toll was ‘a mere two percent’, yet any chicken that lives past 2 years is gassed and ground into composed. What a load of bullshit.
http://www.hsicanada.ca/images/chicken/281x144_battery_cage_hens.jpg

But on the flipside you can't have barn-fresh eggs for the millions of people that eat them daily. And animal rights group have their hearts in the right place but are so irrational I sometimes roll my eyes at their ‘mission’. Like this one group is trying to get all the major grocery stores to put this sign next to their eggs:
http://www.mercyforanimals.org/hatchery/logo.gif

No grocery store is going to do that you idiots, and it's not even a good idea to begin with, no matter how true it is. Well anyways it was an interesting article, definitely made the 45 minutes wait seem like less.

That's a deliciously cute dog… I could just devour him… um…

For you people sensitive about this statement I just made, I'm saying I'd love to grab the puppy and hold it in my arms… for hours. heh… got a PQ once when someone put up a pic of a cat in a plastic bag and I commented on how delicious he looked… apparently someone took that statement too seriously…

———-

Wow… I wonder if it's the same with chickens as it is with cows… the unused parts of cows were ground up into pellets and fed to the live cows. The result was Mad Cow Disease… which was the result of having the cows eat the brains of their bretheren… eww…

———-

heh… I got this weird idea near after the moment I woke up. The Chinese were able to make a “decent” console (yes… the Vii/MiWi is a knockoff of Nintendo's Wii, but I still thought it had potential) and keep it cheap, maybe I can do it too. Except it wouldn't be a knockoff of anything and wouldn't compete with the major 3 consoles out there. It'd be a 2D gaming console with the ability to put tens of thousands of sprites on the screen. And I'd distribute the Development Kit for it for free, but would require a rather small fee for developers to put the game on the console (maybe $10 per developed game or something) to pay for the console development costs. Pretty much aimed at video game programming hobbyists like myself. A lot of the older consoles out there (such as the Turbografix 16 and Dreamcast) have IDGs making games for them long after their manufacturing has stopped.

Heh… Even though 3D gaming is the rage nowadays, 2D gaming will always be fun for me.

Okay… I think I had too much coffee again… and dreaming a bit too large as well… T_T

I keep opening up this thread and seeing the dog and dying form its cuteness all over again, and then realising how insane I sounded in my post regarding its cuteness.

People always take stuff too seriously on the net. They can't discern if its a joke, I think, I mean, when we tell jokes in real life, you see the expression on people's faces and hear the sarcasm, those things don't translate well over text. I got yelled at once because I made a sarcastic statement about PETA on Deviant, and someone took it literally and started berating me saying that I was a murderer, and I was like “Calm your farm, honey! I didn't really mean it, Christ!” But I've been fairly fortunate not to run into too many of those types of people.

That reminds me of the time I was on Gaiaonline and some chick posted this really long rant about how “rich” gaians didn't treat her well because she had newbie clothes. I barged into the thread going “Get back to the cotton fields, peasants!” and she wrote me this enormous rant thinking I was serious.

…my PQ inbox says I have -1 new messages, I thought it was an error that'd vanish after refreshing the page… but it won't go away, its still there, now, taunting me with its possibilities of minus messages, anti-PQ's… WHAT…WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!

I think that stems from a data transfer a long time ago (a year or more) where data from like a half-hour period was partially lost, and PQs sent in that time were lost but their numbers were logged or something. So there's some kind of mismatch going on.

That doesn't make a lot of sense though since you only joined last year sometime, and I thought it was further back than that.

Apparently the way to fix this is delete every message in your inbox, which is supposed to reset it to zero. Most people want to keep some messages around though, and since you can't send messages to yourself (on this version of the site anyway) deleting them all is more bother than just living with the -1.

Puppy's name is Olive, she's three months old, and she's some sort of… uh, black dog. My friend adopted her from the SPCA, but sadly her other dog didn't care for the new addition. So she asked my boyfriend and me to take her. We'd been considering adopting a medium-sized dog (we already have a ten and a 75 pound dog) so… yeah. It all happened in like an hour.

shhhhh, keep it down! my wife hears the cuteness….
——

In about 1 month, i will be a house owner.

talking with my cousins mother about how she's still in school until mid june. and i said “back in my day, we were out already” and then i looked at the date, and saw that it's been 7 years exactly since i graduated high-school. That, coupled with all the new army recruits at the gym to which i said “How old are these guys? they're still kids” and the answer being 18, makes me feel ooooooooold.

Oh well, i can out run half of them.

It is 4:36 Pm EDT. I have to get up to go to work in four hours. What am I doing awake and typing this?

I'm trying to get myself tired enough to go back to bed and not just lay there and play with the pillows and stuffed animals.

Yes, there is a squad of stuffed animals on the bed at all times. The wife insists on it. We have these floppy animals that make great eye shades for daytime sleeping.

Since we can't have real pets because of house clutter, responsiblity issues and allergies we make do with several hundred stuffed animals. The Happy Animals. They're everywhere.

I even wrote a bunny song for the extended stuffed bunny family we have. (Three sisters who are the Mom-ma bun-nies, their husbands, children, grandparents. And we don't have to cleanup after them or feed them and they won't ever pass away.) (In fact when an animal gets very careworn we retire it to a special place on the shelf and it becomes an elder states-animal or animal emertius)

“Bunnies on your head
Bunnies on the bed
Bunnies everywhere
Bunnies 'cause we care”

Ugh… as if my week weren't going bad enough… first my brakes break… and now so do my glasses… in FOUR PLACES!!! Guess where? Yep… right at that bridge over the nose. With the lenses popping out. I've been told that duct tape fixes everything, but it's not the stuff that can hold eyeglasses together. I'm just glad that I have a spare set. All I have to do now is to go shopping for similar sized frames for my now frameless lenses from the other pair and have them cut to fit that frame.

At least my programming is going well. I can play sounds at will now. And music too if I can find some. Yeah… I bet you professional programmers out there are laughing at my tiny little milestones and the fact that I keep posting them, but at least I'm progressing bit by bit. And I still have that parody shooter in my mind starring comic characters from Drunkduck… except while it still features starfish aliens, the aliens will be trying to take over pop culture (imagine a starfish alien thing with Miku Hatsune's hair… and attacking with it like an airplane propeller!!!).

oh… and my pervert cousin is still trying to get me to program a certain kind of game for him… I should just kick his butt and tell him to get an actual girlfriend… not that he has a chance anyway…

THank you. We're getting like 1 million inspections, so hopefully we can make the full decision before final purchase.
And for the pet, our 2 dogs don't get enough attention as it is, so i've been using excuses not to get another one. It helped while we lived here with a 2 pet limit…i don't know what i'm going to say now.

Lonnehart, I enjoy reading your little programming updates much the same way that I enjoy reading the chicken updates. It's alright to understand your limitations in a field, but it's another thing to feel defined by them. Truly you shouldn't waste your time commiserating over programmers who are better than you – namely because you are better than me. (There's always a bigger fish.) :)

Thanks for the encouragement. Programming isn't easy, but the things I've been able to accomplish so far are things that a lot of teenage programmers will easily get. Then again, young minds are easier to mold than older ones… Still, I'm just taking things one small task at a time, then optimizing what code I've learned so I have to write less for a task I want done. I have it easier than the programmers nearly a half decade ago. writing a single mono-colored pixel on the screen probably took 500 sheets of paper's worth of code… ugh…

—-

Wow… learned a bit about the history of Walt Disney World…. specifically the fact that Disney used dummy corporations to purchase the land it was built on as cheaply as possible. When the truth about what he was doing came out, the value of the remaining land he was planning on buying shot up by several hundred percents… or something like that. Still, that's pretty underhanded I think…

'they won't post about that, gamps.'
'“oh, im simon cowell, today i got up, ate breakfast, ate sum more stuff then went to bed” i mean, honestly!?'
'*sigh*'
'and whats a tweet when it's at home?'

So far I've dodged the twitter bullet. And if it means hiding under a rock for the rest of my life, I will continute to dodge that bullet. I just can't handle one more networking site. Facebook is about my limit.

People flood my wall with meaningless drivel. It's bad enough that I have a bazillion game requests every time I log on without having to wade through the millions of meaningless posts to find the one update about someone's life.

Begrudgingly I concede that it does help me keep in contact with people, so I continue to use it. But I absolutely draw the line with Twitter.
