It's not that surprising really, virtually no one plans out their webcomics. That's why most of them suck
That's a Lefarcian generalisation. I didn't know you were a pupil at his feet? A student of that vaunted school.

I hear the hazing rituals are pretty rough :(

——————-
Many webcomics follow plans, mostly story comics, but also some strips. Overall they have a looser structure than a lot of other media (even when they do follow plans), which allows them to be more free flowing and creative, able to incorporate other new ideas, respond to events quite fast and show changes in style and technique without too much fuss.

That's really quite a massive advantage. :)

I agree completely.

The two most important things, IMO, a web comic needs is:
1.A fucking plot.
2.Pages done and in the can.

I didnt put anything up until I had 8+ pages

So you're agreeing that a “lefarcian generalization” is based on personal experiance leading one to believe a certain thing, rendering it basically as a “reasonable generalization”?

cause last time I checked I was saying I personally plan nothing out in my life and that my opinion of my comics is that they suck, and frankly I think I'm the most qualified to make both judgments.

You're not good at this whole insult thing, are you?

Actually today was pretty good, yesterday was fuck awful.

My friend dropped something big on me that she's kept from everyone for five years. It's not “oh my gawd she had a penis” shocking, but it explained a lot.

But, pff, no. hows bout you, why so serious budday?

I was wondering the same about you…

Well, it's Sunday. Life's good, no worries for me. But I slept in to 1pm today, so when I finally got up I wasn't motivated to go out anywhere, which was a shame. So instead I'm trying to work up the enthusiasm to finish a late comic page.

I hate waking up after 10:30. I always feel down and in a way torpid. Ug. Speaking of which, time for me to go to bed.

I've been dragged out to a shack in the middle of nowhere(also known as our cabin) where I'm woken at 7 every morning and taken to some crummy lake where I lie on uncomfortable rocks trying to nap while the rest of my family tortures fish.

Also, my neighbours out here have like 20 guests(I have no idea how they fit them all) who kept me up late last night being stupid. And I swear this is the third time in two days I've smelled pot coming from their place. I obviously would have no problem with them doing that usually, but there are several children over there, as well as my little sister playing outside. I would complain, but they're friends of the guy who owns this land and all these cabins.

I made a page-long list of everything that sucks about my cabin to pass the time because I've been bored out of my mind. I tried drawing but my only art supplies out here are a bunch of half-melted crayons and a ballpoint pen.

On the upside, I brought my laptop and when I turned it on a little while ago I noticed that I seem to be picking up wireless internet from somewhere.

@Hippie van

Pretend that you're a melting crayon and a giant hand picks you up and begins to draw with you. It scribes beautiful murels of voluptuous fields of flowers. As it moves to the sky, the flow of the drawing begins to hasten and become sporatic and wild. The hand is frenetic and animosity bleeds from the hand, through you, and onto the paper, creating a sky with crimson clouds and a portal to a world of ire and tumult. Rings emanate from the sanguinary clouds as bellowing sirens and you are taken, melting into the picture, subject to its emotion.

At times of turmoil or just boredom, I like to escape and dream of intense emotion via nonsensical circumstances. It's much fun and really provides a tasty deliverance. :)

I ended up having to go in to work early to do deliveries. Which normally wouldn't bother me, except that this time it was 5 am which meant I had to get up at 4. Then I managed to trip on a water hose someone left lying about and slam my head into the drivers side mirror on my delivery truck, which shattered the mirror with my forehead. After that, I had a trailer blow a tire on me while I was towing it and set the entire shop back an hour.

But on the plus side, I called my school for next fall today and they told me that President Bush has just signed a new bill which allows students to get a couple thousand dollars more on their Stafford loans which helps take a bit of pressure off of me. It's a loan, but it's at least at a lower interest rate and it's money that's assured to be available for me. I also found out that I can apply for a grant, since my parents are ineligible to sign a loan for me. That pretty much makes up for the headache and possibility of having to pay for repairs on the truck.

i just smashed my head on my computer desk.
one of my dogs brought his toy to me to play with. so i reached for it, before either dog started biting at it, and i forgot that i was within head distance of my desk. and nailed my forhead at super speed on the sharp corner. it started bleeding and swelled immediatly. i love my dogs. what was i doing again?

My colorist won't be back for a few days D:
And I don't know the exact date I want to re-launch my comic.
:(
It makes me sad.

So I spend all day scripting, and drawing. But then, I procrastinate, and realize that I've wasted my whole day doing a bunch of nothing. Because what seemed like a lot of drawing, only accomplished 1 or 2 pages.

Ugh. D:

OK, so just a minute ago I stood on the dogs tail. So she jumped and her teeth brushed against my foot, at which point I screamed at the top of my voice and yelled at her. Which was overreacting. I admit that, but I wouldn't have overreacted were it not for the fact that the fucking oversized has tried to bite chunks out of me before.

I want her put down, but of course everyone immediately rushes to the defence of the dog. ‘Oooooh she didn’t mean it', ‘you shouldn’t have watched where you were going, it's not her fault she was sitting on the stairs while it was pitch fucking black', ‘it’s not her fault she's to stupid to realise sitting in places where she's likely to get stood on is a bad idea'. And my favourite: ‘give her one last chance’, which has been said on each of the five occasions I've been bitten. If she so much as bares her teeth at me again, I'll twist her horrible neck until it snaps.

'Oh hey, that guy I live with doesn't like dogs! Surely he won't object if I adopt one without informing him!'

Why is everyone in this house a fucking idiot except me?

dog stuff

Putting a dog down should be a last resort, I hope you weren't serious when you said that. Dogs that are deliberately put down should be truly unresponsive to rehabilitation etc. She may need to be rehomed and put on a different training regimen, but not killed.

Sounds more like the problem is the people you live with and not with the dog. I bet they don't train her and have relaxed rules for acceptability. There is some merit to what they say, that dogs don't learn or understand things in the same way humans do, but people who understand that don't use it as an excuse for unacceptable behavior. If a dog does bad things, it's the owner's problem and not the dog.

I'd watch the screaming and yelling at her. When dogs are afraid they can bite. Fear respect is completely different to dominance respect. She's probably confused as to what her place in the house is, etc.

So my rant is about people who don't know how to take care of dogs, but keep getting them anyway. Sweden, or whatever country it was, has it right- you have to get a license to own a dog or cat which means passing basic tests. (Now if they'll only do the same for people who want to have kids)

If you really hate this dog so much, I would suggest giving it up for adoption, not putting it down, so it can be in the hands of someone who really cares for it. A lifetime of being hated isn't right for anyone, whether it be a human or an animal.

I'm just going to point that I hate dogs with every fibre of my being and expecting me to be reasonable regarding them is like expecting boulders to float.

That said, she's actually quite well trained. She doesn't bite anyone else when they stand on her, it's just me. Which even weirder because she seems to respect me the most. Unless I'm just missing some kind of obscure dog signal which means ‘I’m out for your fucking blood'.

license to get a dog? Do you know what a license means? It means something that is a PRIVILEGE and not a RIGHT.

Yes, I know what a license is. Owning an animal should be a privilege and not a right. :) There are a lot of animal rights problems that would be solved if there were a way to ensure that dogs and cats had responsible owners, or at least legal power to enforce positive treatment of animals. However, in many states abusing and torturing an animal isn't even a crime.

Different kind of respect. She finds you threatening or unpredictable, probably. Dogs know when someone doesn't like them.
