When I was little there were only two types of “Fanny”: the name of that character in The Famous Five, and the name for a woman's… parts -_-
The front.

We'd get in quite a lot of trouble for shouting that in the street. Man, that makes me sound way older than I am. :(

People don't know how to shake hands. It's not hard.

1. Grasp hand, firm, but not crushing.
2. Two, maybe three pumps
3. Smile
4. Nod
5. Release

Those last 3 steps should all take part in about 1 second.

i always judge a person by this part. i know that even if the person doesnt have the same morale north that i have, if they have a firm but not crushing hand shake, they'll stand by their morales to the death. (the firmer the more set, in other words)

and this judgement of people works about 80% of the time.

Some pundits say Westerners should start to use the Asian custom of bowing because then you don't have to worry about germs.

There are those of us who cannot shake hands firmly because of carpel tunnel, arthritis and tendonitis. Since I only have 50% feeling/strength (except for pain) in my right hand, a firm handshake is physically impossible. Anyone firmly shaking my hand I will be grimacing in pain and won't be able to move my hand for several minutes. They better not expect me to sign anything as I won't be able to hold a pen unless they don't mind me using my left hand signature.

I've been teaching myself to be ambidextrous for quite a few years now. Now I have to shake out my right hand and do clenching exercises to get the feeling back.

I've gotten a lot of compliments on my handshake from older men, they say they're surprised it's so firm and assured. I'm happy when i get unique compliments like that.

Fuck i don't get it, I can't get inspired to draw my comic at ALL. I'm not even that busy now, i'd rather just use my time for complete leisure- reading manga and watching movies and sleeping.

Perhaps because it's the beginning of summer. All of that heavy, responsibility school crap has finally been lifted and now you feel like repleneshing.
…perhaps.

I would definately prefer to bow rather than shake hands. People do things with their hands. Dirty things. Besides, it's as Bravo mentioned, some people are incapable of providing a firm handshake and this unfairly makes people look less respectable.

Fistpound, brah.

Hell yeah.

To contribute, I can't stand passive-aggressive students. Today one of my classes ran about five or so minutes over. My professor doesn't really keep track of the clock once he starts his lectures, and it was 11:55 by the time he finally checked his watch after seeing much shifting, loud sighing, eyerolling, groaning and etc. from his lovely students.

Yes, I understand you're frustrated that class ran over time, but instead of being a silent dick about it, just raise your hand and say so, even if you think you're being rude! (For the record, all of the eyerolling and shit is a lot ruder than putting up your hand and saying, ‘Excuse me Dr. Smith, but we’re running over time.) Geeze, I had just noticed right before he did and was about to point it out when he beat me to the draw.

That and when a teacher ma inadvertently cut over their students or whatever. The guy who teaches this class isn't a crab or a terrible teacher or anything, he's genuinely very nice and polite. There's this one guy who sits in front of me that acts like a holier-than-thou asshole towards my teacher and takes underhanded snipes at him for no goddamn reason. He seems to have an ego problem or something, but I wish he and all the other people who do this would STOP.

So my aunt just called and informed us that a family friend just killed both his kids, and then himself. Apparently, he and his wife were getting a divorce and he was going to loose custody of them.

Why is it these people with names like, LoveU892987392873 or Hawtguy3298y3323897293873098478388479387298283889289829190238120947-8228398723987, sometimes with perv shit in their little message box, keep randomly adding me on the playstation network?

I could kind of understand if it were on an instant messenger or website, there's a point to having friends/contacts there… but what in the name of gibs could come of adding some fucker you've never even played with before. Secondly, I've only ever seen two people type ‘FoxmanZEO’ accurately the first time, so it's like they've actually written it down or something. For the sole purpose of randomly adding me to their friend list. Thirdly, my profile basically says, “Fuck off.”

What's the scam?

Aw the hell with it, just leave. I used to point at my watch. When lecturing I usually tasked one student to watch the clock and tell me if I was running late.

My rant today is about the stupidity of the mainstream media.

My question: What is more evil? Calling a basketball team “nappy headed hos” or making death threats on air? What is the greater evil? Making racist comments or threatening murder?

Perhaps you do.

In the context of the actual “threats”, the “racial” insult was actually the worse offence. Obviously.

The “threat” was in reality meaningless bluster, which almost all sensible people would recognize it as. The “racial” insult though, however it was intended, is a clear incitement to violence and “racial” tension.

THAT is much worse…

Why do people treat kids as property like that? Killed to spite his partner. What a pathetic failure of a useless human being.

Don Imus said “nappy headed hos” in a small sentence. Almost in a mumbling manner. Not like Michael Reagan who said the death threats at least THREE TIMES.

I could imagine if it was the other way around. Lets say Alex Jones or Mark Dice calls for the assassination of neocons and/or any one of those who attended the Bilderberg meeting. He'd definitely be arrested in a few hours then he'd be put on national television and called a terrorist… as well as have his face in the front page of every newspaper in North America, Europe, and maybe in the foreign news section of publications all over the world. Then in the next week, there'd be alot of “special reports” on TV that start talking about “domestic terrorism”.

See the double standard?

Anyway personally, I'd be more threatened if someone makes death threats than if someone says a racist comment.

You're taking it out of its context ;)

The so called “threat” was in response to a racialist taunt. Those taunts stir up just such reactions so it's irresponsible to use them.

By “civilian type teachers” I meant those in the civilian world. When I taught I had a student watching the clock so I'd have warning adn could get the Home work assignment out.

In the Army once I made rank, my service schools were all “professional courtesy” as far as it went. If you had pressing business you could walk out. But it was on you to approach the instructor and explain your absence and make up the work. Rank had its priveledges and its responsibilites. I eventually became the guy in the front of that military classroom.

I think anyone who has a car accident on a major motorway and causes a jam or big slowdown should owe everyone stuck in that jam £20 for every hour spent in the jam T_T

Then maybe I'd have a couple quid to pay for the petrol and wasted time I spent on the M6 today!
