Technically I've always been dead - something to do with a clown and some cold hot cola if I remember.

My goodness it's hard to quote/not quote here!

Before my time, I'm sure.

Unless this is code for Kyupol, whom I also miss

So I'm working from home today, like most Mondays, but was feeling chilled, with a bit of stomach upset and a nagging headache.

“I'll just lay down a minute or two” – for three-and-a-half hours

I too wondered if he meant Kyupol, Mag-isa hasn't updated in a while. I miss his crazy talk, not the crazy spamming but when he made the effort to put a proper point across he was at least interesting.

Thats the fellow! He always used to call himself ‘we’ - a bit like the queen I s'pose.
I wish there was still that who's online bit at the bottom, where most people had little names but some old posters had massive names, like majestic whales gliding ever onwards, briefly aware of the miriad sardines that surround them.

There are time when I wish I had the money and resources… to buy DrunkDuck from whatever owners it has at the time. I bet keeping this thing running (and that's with keeping the current status quo) is pretty expensive, though. *sigh*

Maybe I should create a “hypothetical” thread about what each DD user would do if they were able to buy DrunkDuck and own it. I also wonder if the community would be able to pull together to buy DD and improve it themselves… one can only dream, right?

They came so far and then stopped cold.

And so many faces are missing. Sometimes I feel like I'm walking into the meal hall in Dawn Patrol or Battle of Britain and seeing all the empty seats.

But after all this is a hobby and spare time has a habit of drying up and forcing everyone to vanish for a while and most come back eventually. Not like they're getting shot down over enemy territory.

So I get the late night phone call from the wife in San Francisco. In a city full of misjointed sidewalks, she finally found one and fell. She broke her ankle. A compound fracture! Now will she be coming home Wednesday? And I know a compound fracture won't be fully healed by November. Europe is very handicapped unfriendly so how is she going to get around? Will I have to spend another two-week vacation being pack mule and man servant to my disabled spouse? Can I convince her to do the wise thing and cancel?

Of course not. Better start hitting the gym now so I can be a proper pack mule.

But my mom is coing home from physicalrehabilitation today.

Probably, unless you can get your wife outfitted with a gizmo like time stamp :42/:43

Well, this stinks. I want to fix my car. My sister has been getting on my case about biking to work. She doesn't care about how much more fit I'll be or that I'll save money on gas. She's extremely worried that I'll end up a red smear on the road after being hit by something… like a meth addict driving a freight truck full of construction blocks… or something like that.

I COULD fix my car. I was planning on it today, but the weather isn't cooperating. It's gonna rain all day… *sigh*. I guess I could wait a while, then take the car hub to the mechanic and pay them to remove the drive shaft lugnut for me. My plan for today was to take a contrete chisel and just destroy the thing which would be a headache. Oh, well…

Now if only I can find an electronics store so I can rig my bike for night riding. I'm getting tired of leaving the housefive hours early to work just for my safety… Oh, well… at least I got all the gears adjusted. Jeez… you'd think they'd already be adjusted after leaving the factory…

I just don't know what to do to please my boss.
Among other things, today she got mad at me for leaving a “hand-written note” instead of a proper special order for someone, and for not initialling it. The only problem with that is that it was her note. I didn't tell her that because I figured it wouldn't make her any happier with me. I don't really know what the proper response is for that sort of thing.

Lovely… apparently my bike is too big for me. According to the instruction manual I'm supposed to have 3 inches clearance between myself and the top bar. However, I have NONE. So I guess when I spill I'll end up with three times as much pain…

And it gets worse.

My wife has two broken ankles. One is a compound fracture with screws and plates. She finally got a hold of her cell phone and charged it up so there was a flurry of phone calls last night. Had to cancel her flight home as she'll be there at least until the end of the week. As usual family came through reminding me how fortunate I am to have the family I do.

Sadly Judy's companion has fallen apart andis having difficulty functioning. Probelm solving has never been her strong point. But at least the surgeon was really cute.

And Good-bye Rome cruise. But we have cancellation insurance. Maybe I could convince Judy to go for the Castles of the Rhine Cruise with Richard Dawkins in 2012. Maybe a cruise to the Yucatan so I can be on spot for the End of the Mayan Calendar.

Two broken ankles, ouch!
My snake is beginning to get used to being handled, as such he no longer goes for my hand when i try and pick him up. Which is good as even though I know he can't hurt me it's hard not drawing my hand back when he goes for a strike.

I wonder if you could bait your snake with a mouse at the end of a string (not a real mouse, that would be rather dastardly).

I want to see the mother ship land and the Annunaki return from Planet X to herald the New Age of Enlightenment. I've been wanting to go there on that date since I saw it on In Search Of… inthe 1970s when it was originally scheduled for 24 December 2011.

The whole waking up every night to sit by the phone between 10-11PM for the last minute call to come in is getting tiresome. I can only hope that the guy's coming in three days in a row (which he hasn't done in two months) means he's training a new guy. A new guy to work for me when I go on my now cancelled vacation.

Maybe I can convince Judy to do the American War of Independence New Jersey thing finally. All the sites are handicap friendly. Yeah, who needs Rome when you live on the Crossroads of the American Revolution.

Me and my stupid history things again. Except short of Terry Jones I'm one of the most entertaining historical tour guides around.

I'd love to take a cruise like that. However, it'll never happen in my lifetime… *sigh*…

There are Pacific Cruises here, but I'd have to be pretty rich and have a ton of spending money to take them…

I have a light duct taped to the frame of my bike now. And I'm going to try and go to work while it is dark. Of course I'll be travelling on the shoulder of the road opposite of where the dogs are, but I'll have to be careful since I'll be going against the direction of traffic while on that shoulder (I'll be pointing the bicycle light downwards so everyone can still see me, but I'll be in no danger of blinding anyone at the same time). Hopefully I can find some good LEDs I can use to rig up a tail light as well as two other lights to light up the bike wheels and the ground around them so I can be visble to motorists.

Darnit… and I'll try to remember to bring my camera with me so I can take pics of the thing. :)

Or maybe I don't need to…

Hmm… was just surfing around randomly and decided to see what, if anything new, was mentioned about DD on Wikipedia. I noticed then the article was deleted this past August and the word trivial being bandied about. Meh!

“You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process,” he added. “That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle.”

Had a really weird shift this evening.
Around 8 o'clock, all of a sudden my co-worker and I noticed flies in the store - a lot of them. There were probably 50-100 just swarming around the lights. Then, just before 9, they all seemed to disappear(aside from maybe a dozen of them).
I hope they're not back tomorrow - I still feel like they're all in my clothes.

Global warming. That's why it's been rapidly cooling and raining in the Northeast USA after our usual Indian Summer.

Once upon a time about 200 years ago “Indian Summer” was a time of terror on the frontier. They should make an historical horror movie about the terror American Indians perpetrated on those white invaders. It'd make Saw look like The Sound of Music without any fictional exaggeration at all.
