You might know of a stout fellow known as Lothar on DD who's been around since the early days of the site…

He authors a very long running adult comic called Grind. I first knew him under another alias and was a huge fan of the non-adult work he produced under it… be that as it may though I'm talking about Lothar because of a new news feature he'll be producing every second Friday, alternating with HPKomic and his comic panel focused discussion.
Lothar is a long time fan of looking at our older, defunct comics for his own pleasure. He loves delving into the mysterious waters of the Quail's Random to see what treasures he can find. Lothar is a real comic adventurer! He suggested that we do a regular feature on older webcomics. I thought it sounded like a realy good idea and who better to be the one behind it but Lothar himself? So that's what we're doing!

I was thinking the same thing, it's awesome that you guys are checking out old comics, it used to be a hobby of mine, when I had time to spend on things I'm passionate about. The only thing that I do now is working and making money to survive. I LOVE THE DUCKKK

Oh this is an awesome idea, especially with how things get buried so fast online (faster now than its ever been), it'll be nice to see some older works getting highlighted again for new readers! I never would have found Zebra Girl if I hadn't happened to catch a bonus comic the author made years after the main story concluded, but I've also found a couple of my favourite reads just hitting random, and finding a gem that had wrapped up back in 2007, or never updated past then. Looking forward to this!

Heh! I remember Anti-Featured. Should I feel old now because of that? ... That's a great idea. DD's servers are full of awesome stuff that isn't done justice with too few people still aware of it. I sometimes scroll down my long favourites list to revisit comics I enjoyed years ago. Some of them are complete, which is why I've suggested before that complete comics could be tagged so you can still find them via the main page. They're really great reads and it's a pity they hardly get any new readers unless someone is searching for a specific title. (Btw. heed skyangel's words and treat yourselves to Shades if you haven't. I loved it when it updated and still have got its print version somewhere on my bookshelf. I wonder what DAJB is doing these days.) In many more cases, they're abandoned comics whose creators I sorely miss. What can I say: I understand things that keep you from continuing a comic way better than I'd like to and just try not to go missing completely as well as I can.

I feel like part of me aspire to be as much of a webcomic adventurer as our beloved Lothar. Hasn't gone as well as I'd like to, as I have a tendency to be so focused on making webcomics that I forget the whole reading webcomics part. I do have acquired some old diamonds over the years though, completed and uncompleted. Such as eliada, Filaments a KerBop story, Miss Sisyphus, Perils of Lusynda, Shrouded RD, Under the Shroud, the process, Dinnersaurus Rex, Dreamwalkers and some others. If anyone can inspire me to go for more, it sure ought to be Lothar. I'm looking forward to fridays with Lothar^^

Being as someone whose comic has just stepped into the cartoon graveyard I'm naturally biased but I think this is a great idea. I also love the Quails Random selection as comics pop up that I had forgotten about. I've just started reading Shades again by DAJB which is a definite golden oldie so along with HPKomics articles I think this will make a great companion.
