The Destruction of Monumentsāš”

likes!

Somethings that are part of the landscape can disappear overnight. Spring still arrives on time and the grass and bugs don't care. The fountains turned off to save water. The lights in the vending machine turned off to save power. And the memories of the dreams of the future are turned off to survive.

šŸ»Hope everyone is having a Friday
I got a few goodies here…. This first one is really great….
It's like something out of the 80s or 90s because it is! The author says they drew it long before uploading it here. It reminds me of something out of heavy metal magazine or something. There are a few stories that kind of flow one into the other and it wraps up… Kind of. I really like the black and white style. It's clean and really pops.

Oblon Pi (2010 *80s+90s)
————————————
MONSTERS!!!
that's not the title of the comic, btw. This one is all done in this sepia/mummy brown pallet
Making it look really nice and muddy, like the world shortly after the asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs. It's kinda like a survival story. The main character has detached forearms.. was this a trend back in the 2000s ? Because I swear I've seen it before. This one seems to be truly abandoned, unfortunately. The author took a “short break” and hasn't returned yet.

Driftwoods (2009)
—————————————
The colors!
This last one is something unique indeed. It's girl a color palette that's almost entirely pink-purple and radioactive green. It's got this 1920s vibe going and the story is just kind of wacky and funny. I quite enjoyed it.

Parakeet Jones(2009)

*BoNuS One-Page-Wonders*
This one is pretty good for a single page with nothing else that I can find. It sets up the world the characters and everything, even has a decent punchline.

Thanks for reading this

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, Amelius , mages me want to do more black and white stuff,. Maybe some non-porn stuff. Thanks Andreas ! It was inhaled by real life events.

Maybe the detached arms was inspired by Rayman? Though the only thing going on with it in 2009 was a Nintendo DSI release of the original, so maybe not. I really love the creature design in Driftwoods, the author was in my friends list here yes! What a shame there's no more. And dang Parakeet Jones was stylish! I swear this had to be featured at some point, the art looks super familiar? Another dang shame it just ends abruptly. And dang, Oblon is the quality you see on comic store shelves in the indie section for sure, some great hatching and the classic style of that scene, very nice! Always mad respect for people that can do the whole thing with paper and ink and don't drag their clumsy hand over it ruining the whole thing with smudges (that's me and my dumb hands)

As someone who's a sucker for poetic prose, that was one hell of a sweet first paragraph:) Gonna add these three to my checking listšŸ‘
