We were pretty okay, but everything around here is waterlocked and everything flooded. No trains or roads for a while. >>;
The week before the hurricane I was all "OH GOD SCHOOL IS STARTING MUST MAKE AS MANY COMIC PAGES AS POSSIBLE' then the hurricane happened and I was stranded upstate for days and then I was making up for missed work for about a week.
SO now I come back and the DD awards have started ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I need to get a promo picture thingie together. >>;

Well… the monitor is in the shop. I should get a phonecall soon telling me it can be worked on and with any luck I'll pick it up next month. Until then I'll have to put up with the radiation destroying the DNA in my eyes and causing my retinas to detach… if I don't smash my head into the CRT first(resulting in it being shot full of holes by the electron guns in the back of the tube)…

My mouth still hurts in places, not much, just aches.

The only solid food I've had was a packet of salt and vinegar chips… I just HAD to have them! I have been dreaming and lusting after real food for so long but afraid to eat it because of the pulled teeth…

Well, it went ok. Maybe I can start trying real food now… or just move up to noodles :(

The dentist was expensive… Hopefully I'll get some back on my health insurance. :(

Ugh.. I've been told that dental work hurts the wallet, pocket book and bank account more than it hurts the mouth…

So you can't even eat noodle soup now? I guess it does take a few days for your mouth to heal and such… I hope that anesthetic they used wasn't too uncomfortable…

No, not anymore. But I do tend to dribble a bit at the moment.
Be prepared to be grossed out by some TMI but my drool is as thick as viscous as the great strings that hang out of dog's mouths :(

Oh I can eat noodles ok and more solid stuff I suppose… but I don't like the idea of it touching tender places, or getting caught up in tender places in there and having to fish it out >:[

The whole operation went quite smoothly actually and the anaesthetic was THE best part… what a lovely dreamy sleep that was…
It was afterwards that the bad part started.
The anaesthetist warned me that the anaesthetic would wear of suddenly and pain would hit like a wrecking ball so I had to take my painkillers straight after the operation…

So I'm in the waiting room with my mouth full of gauze, drool and blood and he hands me 3 pills and a cup of water and then goes off somewhere and leaves me alone. WTF?
I couldn't feel anything in my mouth, I couldn't even feel the outside of my face! Gauze was starting to slip down my throat and I was about to choke and I couldn't say anything, I couldn't even reach into my mouth and pull stuff out because I couldn't tell what was what- my tongue and lips felt the same as the gauze…
And I'm expected to swallow pills and a cup of water?

Well, the guy seemed to think it was no trouble, and I DID NOT want to face that pain, so I went ahead and tried… Pills stuffed in there, pour water in, then attempt to swallow… Only to immediately start choking (of course). I hacked up everything. Pills went flying across the room, blood, water, drool and gauze all over the walls and floor! It was glorious!

I eventually got them down, one by one, super slowly and carefully, after I found them all in different parts of the waiting room, then had to find one of those silly dental assistants to restuff my mouth with gauze again.

What I want to know is, how the F*** do they expect someone with a totally numb mouth and HEAD, just out of full anaesthetic, with a mouth full of gauze and blood to swallow pills unaided? How is that meant to work exactly? How?

I have no idea what to do in this thread so here it goes:
Watched “Watchmen” uncut with “Tales of the Black Freighter” attached to it yesterday. If there's one thing I know now, 3hr 30min movies get reeeally boring after a while.
Gonna get a new laptop soon, good thing because my current one is falling apart.
Hmm, guess that's it.

I know I'm kind of late to the game here, but D: As the daughter of a dental assistant (and someone who also had their wisdom teeth taken out) I can tell you that that isn't what they're supposed to do after surgery… If you're still in pain take ibuprofen(I don't know if you guys have it but I take advil) It's the only thing that worked for me, even the prescription meds they gave me did nothing!

You cannot have tiffany, north face, ugg, or rolex! None for you.

No new comments though… 270 spam accounts, seriously?

Then just for fun I cleaned up the tutorials. So hopefully there's no more super junky or broken-image ones around any more. And hey it looks like I can feature tutorials like featuring comics? But I didn't have the energy for that. Someone nominate me some and I'll do it. (I have to make an image for them too, dunno how to do that on the text-only ones…)

Wow… when I didn't think things could get any worse…

First my monitor breaks. Now the ball joint behind the left front wheel of my car comes loos, ripping out the driveshaft with it. And exposing the innards of the shaft (which was pretty full of grease). I suppose I can drive with the exposed driveshaft for a while, but the ball joint is part of what holds the wheel to the car and is what helps keep it straight even while moving. Now that it's come apart it's impossible to drive my car anywhere. If anything good came out of this, it's that the ball joint came apart while I was pulling up to my driveway.

Now for the next problem… how to get to work tonight…

Well Kroatz, it was my birthday on Wednesday and I sat by the mailbox all day, waiting for your birthday card. You have no idea how grief-stricken I was. SO GRIEF-STRICKEN.
Well, my teenage years are behind me now. Ew, 20. I feel so old, and even saying that makes me regret it since it probably feels like a kick in the nuts for everyone who's older than me.

Ugh… things are even worse than I thought. Not only is the drive shaft ripped out due to the ball joint failing, but one of the bearings at the end of the drive shaft is missing. Now I could drive my car if those bearings were intact, but as it is now it's impossible.

I guess a 3 hour walk to and from work will do me some good…

Yes. However, my work shift starts pretty late, and the last bus pickup is four hours before then. There's nothing to do once I get to my work site for the next few hours after I get there, so it's probably best if I walk and brave all the dangers of the road (rabid dogs, heavily armed highwaymen, oceans of explosive and corrosive ozone puddles to cross, etc).

But I'll probably take the bus anyway and find a way to kill all that time…

Yeah… pretty much the same… The codeine based meds they gave me (30mg of codeine in each tablet) completely stop having any effect after a while of taking them. Always. I suspect they routinely make 50% of them placebos because they're so puritanically afraid of opiates. I truly and really suspect that. It's the same reason they load them up with 500mg of paracetamol (acetaminophen to Americans) which is a super mild painkiller and a known poison that kills many people a year by destroying the liver- in order to force you not to take too much by killing you if you do…

Nice logic there isn't it? Governments would rather have people die a horrible, painful death than accidentally get a little bit high. -the only cure to taking too much paracetamol is an emergency liver transplant and even if you can possibly find a doner in time it fails most of the time anyway.

So now there's a new spam comic: http://www.drunkduck.com/spam/
showing up as recently updated. The artwork sucks.

Whoever you are, Mr/Ms Spammer, leave the crippled duck alone. It has enough problems. Really, it's not much of a challenge, is it?

How 'bout you go pick on someone like Rupert Murdoch – That could be useful.

Heh… walking to and from work was.. interesting. There was one dog that was so vicious it crossed five lanes of busy traffic just to try and take a bite out of me… only to be poked in the face and mouthmultiple times by my pointy ended umbrella. He only ran back to his house when his owner shouted for him to return.

Passed a couple of drunkards in the dark as well… drinking their beer inside a school bus stop. Nearly got hit by cars who can't seem to stay on the road to pass other cars; they pass directly on the shoulder or on the sidewalk. Makes me wonder if some of these people get their license plates off of cereal boxes…

Walking home in the morning was better. Children going to school, joggers wiith their dogs (sometimes a bit TOO friendly). And again that vicious dog tried to attack me but got stopped short by a nice thick chain. I guess the owner saw what happened last night and decided to restrain the animal. I hope those kids in the bus stop didn't get drunk/sick from the alcoholic fumes in their bus stop…

Ha, that's mostly why my posting there was very short-lived.

I got a little over-excited about Halloween(well, like every year) and started my Halloween costume this week. It's almost done already, just need a few adjustments.

Little Annie(my cat) always likes to be in the washroom with me while I shower. Today she was being extra attention-hungry and tried to hop right in the shower with me. I figured that would probably be a disaster, so I pushed her away.
Now I'm curious whether she would like water, though.
