tumbleweeds and crickets.
DD is pretty much like that sometimes :)
Ironscarf
instead of getting Brian May who would be brilliantly understated and you know he's cut from the same eccentric cloth as Moore 'cos he plays a guitar he made from an old fireplace.
You know they'd then get May to do voice overs of shitty scripts over any old “science for idiots” thing they'd make in the hopes of selling it to the American market.

-Not because the audience are stupid, it's that the program creators think they are.
—————————-

Off that subject for a moment…

I was at the beach yesterday looking at the Sculpture By the Sea exhibition. It was REALLY crowded down there with all sorts of people. The really freaky thing was though that because of the 80s fad in fashion at the moment it was almost like being back in the 80s down there.
All except the hair.
The popular hairstyle for men at the moment seems to be shaved short back and sides. Horrible. Back in the 80's there was some of that but mostly everyone was a lot shaggier or “bigger” in the hair department.

I'm wondering though now when the 90s fad will kick in and what will people wear? I'm hoping for early 90s when mullets were still around, ultra shiny business suites and button up shirts with horrible intricate patterns all over them.
But It'll probably just be some new reinvention of grunge -_-

hey hey. I'm not SUCH an off-putting dodgy of a character.

@seventy2 - it seemed every time I signed on I had a 3 -4 minute conversation with myself about tumbleweeds and crickets. Not once did I manage to sign on when someone else was there. Now it's been months since I checked it out, so I'd have to figure out what my twitter account is so I can sign in again.

Would it help to have a schedule of some kind?

OH RIGHT! and there's that. You should take charge of that, no one seems to follow when i lead projects.

But i was talking more of an actual forum that was set up when the infamous Top Drawer was closed. There were three, and mine was the second to die.

It MAY sound enticing to pour chocolate milk into Coacoa Crispies cereal for a double-chocolatey taste sensation but for the love of Jack Kirby's dead corpse, don't do it.

Went to a hockey game(I'm not a sports fan but my sister wanted me to go). Somehow I ended up right in front of Mr. Insane Hockey Fan and right beside Mr. Obnoxious Hockey Fan. Mr. Insane Hockey Fan kept screaming GO TEAM GO at the top of his lungs and then loudly complaining about being in such a “reserved” section when no one else except his son did the same. Mr. Obnoxious Hockey Fan spent the entire time talking to the team(“Get the puck from him! Pick his pockets! Get to the center! Stop playing off the boards!” etc). Fun stuff.

I hate how clothes all seem to be made for one standard size of person(which I am not). It's so hard to find stuff that fits well, especially shirts.

“Seems”, madam? Nay, it is. I know not seems.

Woot! Got to use the quote ^_^
It's true though, the are. If you get anything tailored, make your own clothes from patterns or look at any older clothing from even as recently as the 1960s you'll see they never used to do this simplistic crap they do with clothing now. There was all sorts of variation for bust, hips, waists, inner leg measurement, necks, and so on.
The reason that clothes don't seem to fit right is because they don't fit right. It's cheaper to make extremely limited runs of any particular design in the sizes guaranteed to sort-of fit the most people.

————————

I'm struggling with a killer headache today. Currently the pills have it at bay.

————————

A bizarre thing happened to me today… a very strange coincidence. On one level it's perfectly mundane, except for the fact that nothing like it has ever happened before.
It was this:

I'd just left work and was walking to the train station when I man on the footpath called me over. He had very dark glasses on and was dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, which was a bit out of place for the area (people wear formal business stuff there mostly). He said he'd just been given two bottles of a power energy drink as part of a promotion. He said he couldn't drink both so he wanted to give the other away and asked me if I wanted one. To be polite I took it.
As I walked away with it held it one hand he called out to me “don't forget to drink it!”
So I laughed and lifted it up and pretended to drink as I walked along.

So I sat in the train with the strange cold bottle of red power drink at my feet all the way to my station. When I got off the train, walked across the road and was just about to go down the street towards home a man called out to me to stop. He was wearing dark glasses, a T-shirt and shorts. He told me some weird story about his wife being parked nearby and his child in school needing a power drink bottle as part of a science experiment. An empty drink bottle.
I hadn't touched the one I was carrying and just offered it to him right away. He asked me if I wasn't even going to have a sip, saying it would be “such a waste”, but I said no, told him he could have the whole lot and just thrust it into his hands and quickly walked on home.

I'm sure it was a magic bottle and those people were evil faeries! Or Demons… Or aliens… or secret agents! :)

Yeah, anyway, it's just a strange coincidence of events- someone giving a bottle and someone wanting the bottle, both dressed similarly and both wanting me to drink it… But I'm glad I didn't drink it.

(God damn it how could they muck it up like that. Bunch of twits)

Yes, what an interesting coincidence. But you know t-shirts and shorts are probably much easier on the body than the usual all black suits, white shirts and plain black ties.

Seen any large dark colored American make sedans lately?(saloons in Br.E)

So I was going to do some spray painting today, but it's raining.

Instead I'll try to do some photoediting. Nice quiet day.

And would everyone at work please stop talking to me as if I know what I'm doing! Damn it I skip a fire extinguisher every inspection to see if the captain notices. Took him two months. Since he's in charge if he totally buggers up everything it's okay. Lol!

The big shame of the whole is that even though it'd make a GREAT little intro to a story, that situation is SO cliché that it's been done over and over since… Well, you can find similar tales in Greek myth, Celtic folklore… probably all of the old myths somewhere.

Congrats! Just remember- athletic skill has a shelf life. They'll only be competitive for the next 20 years, max. Or, if they're gymnasts, that ship has mostly sailed by the time they get to college :p. Artistry, though… You'll be peaking in 30 years, with the possibility of a career spanning another 20 years.

—————–
I finished the scripting for book 2 by Friday afternoon- it came in at about 90 pages. I'm about to start working on the penciling. Spent the morning typing up notes for May Day, though, and work the day job in a few hours, so it'll be a rough start.

—————–
I was hoping to do laundry and take a bath today, but I discovered we didn't have any water pressure. It's not as lame as it could be- I spent a period nearly homeless, so I know the tricks to being able to inconspicuously groom myself in public bathrooms and one of the reasons I have five pairs of the same wardrobe is I remember when I only really only had two sets of clothing- it means no one can track what I've worn or when I've worn it. Man- hobo life skills FTW?

——————
On a related note, it's warm enough that I'm wearing a vest when I go to work instead of my old jacket. I walked to the neighborhood steak house forgetting I was still wearing it. Dress shirt, black slacks, black dress shoes, vest. I kept getting funny looks until I realized how conspicuous I was since the neighborhood standard is grungy t-shirt and jeans. I couldn't quite make out what those Hispanic kids were saying, but it musta been something disparaging about my mother…

I've heard tell of this water pressure. Here ‘bouts, we just take water for slow. If we need a fast water fill, we do a rain dance for a Nor-easter that can fill our backyard quicker than we can fill a pot for boiling spaghetti

— (wildebeests, pawing the ground)

So we’ve friggin lawyered up. #@$!Q&^$# public school system! Almost thought I’d start a new thread about we v. public school, but maybe there’s, at best, another dozen DDers with a similar experience, and they probably don’t post. My coworkers found out I reserved Duke Nukem Forever, but not the “Balls of Steel” Edition. When they asked me why I didn't get that version despite being a Duke Nukem fan, I showed them the price. I pretty much told them why it's called the “Balls of Steel” Edition even though it doesn't come packaged with “Balls of Steel”. The reason… because you need “Balls of Steel” to buy it at nearly $100 (U.S. Currency)… something I don't have as far as my wallet and personal budget goes. :)

Someone read my interview and asked me if my KUWT comic was a fan-fiction/fan-comic on deviantArt.

I was like, “lol, no. It's been a goal of mine to stray as far away from that as much as I can. Let that be my mission from 2011 onward. To try and differentiate my comic from someone's love letter to an old film's characters on fan-fiction.net. It's origin stemmed from an old group IM chat, followed by an RP, then eventually blossomed into something.”

I wasn't too irked about it, though I guess confusion can kinda happen a lot. xD

On the other hand, we had a crazy rain/hail storm in the afternoon yesterday! All of the hail lasted for a whole hour, but they all looked like an endless amount of Dippin' Dots. :D I got it on film because of just how thunderous the whole thing was; it really did sound pretty cool in-between Chopin's music going with it.

Also I thought the ninties trend was still going from the nineties onward. Grunge is pretty much in style. Then again thats late 80's as well.

So I have this incredibly weak feeling from the right side of my jaw all the way down to my right hand. Also a head ache that keeps going away and coming back. I dont know what it is but it makes me just want to do nothing. Ill call it lazy disease.

I have concert on Friday.

This is the setlist:

Are You Gonna Be My Girl? (Jet)
(Song 2) (Blur-possibly won't be played-I hope)
Santa Monica (Everclear)
Soothe (Yourself) (THIS IS AN ORIGINAL I WROTE!!!)
Drive (Incubus)
The Day I Met Her (Another original but this one isn't that good-don't tell my drummer)
Holiday (Green Day)

Out of all of those I suggested two because I just was looking for something to suggest.

But out of those two I don't really like the song.

In other words, I had basically no say in this.

And I'm the goddamn lead singer.

Give me some credit homies…

Sick of the drama in my life. Sick of my life.

So that's when I write songs.

I'll probably have something on youtube soon but I don't know how soon.

Penciled a piddly one page yesterday and about twelve pages today- could've done more, but took a break to watch a movie. It'd be nice to have the first half of this book penciled by Friday. Whether or not that's realistic remains to be seen. One week for scripting, two weeks for pencils, two weeks for inks, one week for touch ups and marketing prep would be on par with the first book.

I got out the punching bag today. Punching bag is a bit of a misnomer. It's an old hot water heater covered in dents. The funny thing about that is that the metal on it is relatively thin, so it has a fair amount of give when you punch or kick it- makes a loud noise and looks impressive, but it's not nearly as rough as you'd think.

Aparently someone in my school had/has tuberculosis and as it is contagious when exposed to the person for a long period of time so the school sent out a newsletter to notify everyone of the symptoms and such but then the health board of my city sent around letters to people who could've had contact with possibly infected people through classes and such to people so that they can be tested to make sure they don't have it.

I got a letter.Damn.
The testing is today (it's 2:00AM here now)
and i'm pretty not happy about this because:

A. It's a needle apparently, and although i'm fine with blood tests needles putting things into me don't exactly float my boat.Unfortunately for me all i know is that this tests includes “A needle under the skin”
B.What if I test positive? apparently that means I have to take 4 pills every day for about 9 months which isn't pleasant I assume
C.For the past couple days I've been feeling all of the symptoms included in the newsletter except for the tell-tale 3 week cough. I did have a cough for about a week but that was because my workplace I spent most of my time at over the march break is really stuffy.
(but obviously i'm still a bit worried)
