Everything is hypnosis. Its all hidden in plain sight.

Everytime I ask a person “Have you been hypnotized before?”

I either get:
1) I saw this stage hypnotist show where people cluck like chickens and bark like dogs… blablabla…
2) I saw this hypnotherapist to help me quit smoking / lose weight / etc. etc. etc.
3) No. I dont know what hypnosis is all about… blablabla…

All of em are clueless. lol!

Wow! That'll be interesting work Pit!
You might be a bit too tierd after the working day to do comics, I'm sure you won't mind too much with all the interesting stuff you'll see. Hope the work's not too hard!
I knew a girl once who did hairdressing on cruise-liners, she thought it was a fantastic job.

Oh dear, another Quackcast recording… Gotta get prepared!
Soon Skool and I will need a staff to do this for us. ^_^
I can see it now… certain mods will be tasked specifically with writing up our feature blurbs and our scripts for the whole thing! And the writers of the funniest comics will do our jokes! The whole thing will be a huge success!!!!!

…but if we do that, may as well get someone with a better voice to do the speaking too. Skool is great, but there could be some improvement on the Ozone end of things… I remember Bekefel had a great voice… I need people to rehearse to be Ozoneocean :)

That sounds great! And like either hard or annoying work… but maybe worth it, especially if you get days off on shore days and stuff!

I have an xbox friend who went to work on a cruise (lighting tech) for like 8 months… he really had nothing to say about it other than it was kind of boring. I got the impression that he didn't really do much to seek out the fun though.

I would rehearse but my accents always break down out of idiocy (and my australian now always just turns english).

We have to be careful not to make too much work for ourselves with notes and stuff! They don't all have to be super-informational advice comprehensive topic things, we'll run out of those sooner or later anyway. :]

thanks guys! it's not really going anywhere to exotic, it stays in U.S. waters, which is fine by me, but we'll be going to places i've never been too, from florida to martha's vineyard, which i hear is nice to see. living in new england now i suppose i oughta. but im looking forward to the job itself and hope it leads to good things. the description was this :

“Deckhand: Deckhands participate in ship operations. This includes steering the ship, docking and anchoring maneuvers, handling lines and gangways, and standing security watches. Deckhands are all involved with general maintenance aboard the vessel and are responsible for the loading and unloading of passenger luggage and ship stores.”

i actually went in for the Steward position, which is more housekeeping and waiteressing stuff, but the interviewer saw i had firefighter on my ap and suggested the change, so it comes in handy man! i'm very stoked aobut this, i've always had a little thing for the ocean and it's not like we'll be going far out, but im happy for the opportunity. i even gave my Chief a heads up about it and he already said it's cool, so i just gotta spread the word and get my ducks in a row and then im outa here. since i'll be making some money, i can hire someone to help me with my art too i think. cant drink for 3 months though. ah well, i can do it.

—Hey, someone needs to write a short radio play for us! That'd be sublime :3

I studied radio drama for a while. Looking into some BBC radio dramas may be a good place to start. Some funny stuff and some interesting things like soap operas. Main thing would be finding good actors. Dont just accept volunteers. Make sure they suit the part. I just scrapped mine because of the guy who wanted to do it. No acting skills but he thought he was amazing. Strong accents can ruin the entire thing. Making a radio drama in Northern Ireland and expecting it to be understandable to the rest of the world is like expecting a quadruple amputee to paint the Sistine chapel ceiling.

Shiny new comic.

Wow, Ozoneocean! I didn't think I could have heard such a painful English accent! Where're you from? Have you ever heard and English person?

…it's really weird how other countries think we're really posh.

LOL! :)

I'm off to bed, just finished next week's Quackcast recording and I have an awful headache (so no accents this time), but I love that comment!

Yeah, silly posh is the easiest accent to mangle. Regional British stuff takes practise and it's very tricky. These days my Aussie accent is too set in its ways so it's much harder for me to do good imitations.

@Same, you should do something for us, a short, one man ply? The Northern Irish accent is one of my faves.

Has anyone ever had that moment in their lives where what everyone is telling them and what's reality is completely conflicting?

And has anyone ever wanted to deviate from the art world and comic world out of sheer frustration only to realize that no matter where they go, they run into constant and rather blatant reminders of why they should do comics?

As if it's on some “Spiderman No More” type shit?

THAT's what's driving me crazy right now. Not knowing what's real right now, whether or not I should become a mailman and give up the dream.

Other than that, I want to beat Snookie to death with rubix cube. I'm a dude who appreciates the greatness of thick booty, especially ones that does that little clap when it— *ahem* anyway, that chick is just boot fugly. And got famous for getting punched in her face for not keeping her goddamn mouth shut.

Soulja Boy? Snookie? Getting famous for mediocrity?!

I should be the biggest comic artist in the goddamn universe if people are giving out golden stickers for being completely devoid of talent and actual worth.

In the immortal words of Jim Cornette:

“Fuck this company.”
“Ninjas are a lot like cockroaches. For every one you kill, there's thousands nesting in your walls.”

I'm going to continue wearing those types of clothes, because the wife said that i can buy a rally car, only if i dress like that more often.

We brits have to be posh or chimney sweeps as the Americans are all Too fat to fit in a chimney. Australians re too busy surfing, drinking shagging kangaroo's and saying g'day. French are too busy not shaving armpits hair and selling garlic. People from the middle east are too busy bombing everything and beating their wives. The Chinese are busy oppressing their own in sweatshops and the Japanese are too busy drawing manga and stuff. Did I miss anyone? well I think that's enough bad cultural stereotypes for one post.

Quite.

Now clean my chimney!

…That sounds rude. -_-

Speaking of stereotypes, a while ago there where these social commentators on BBC radio 4 talking about how the Australian TV soap Neighbours was an example of how Aussies created the racist myth that Australians are blonde haired, blue eyed surfer types.

…Hilariously it turns out that it was actually the BBC itself that was 100% responsible for this: Back when Neighbours was first being sold to them, BBC execs complained that there weren't enough “typical Aussie” blonde haired, blue eyed young people in the show, so the producers were forced to specifically cast some, which went on to create the careers of Craig Mclaughlin, Jason Donovan , and Kylie Minogue -
Horrible actors. Terrible singers.
Their whole careers were created in Britain since they were only ever liked by girls under 14 in Australia.
-Till they all picked up an ironic following in the gay community.

Sort of like how Steve Irwin was always a much bigger hit in the US than in Australia.

…And David Hasselhof was the most famous American in Germany :)

Almost vaguely relevant to this conversation!

Flogging Molly was amazing, as always. @_@
I saw them in NYC but I have to say, it was better seeing them at a venue like the Irish-fest I saw them at in 2007. It was more like a jam session than a concert with theatrics, just the band under a giant tent in the middle of a field. Plus, it took almost 40 MINUTES for the roadies to set up between bands. : | That's ridiculous (it was to sell more beer, obviously, but still. I got there at 5, Flogging Molly didn't come on until 9:35, I was getting ready to leave.)

The friends I went to the concert with were kind of flakey. None of them felt well, one of them had stomach aches, but they chugged vente starbucks cup full of whisky and coke before getting in the door, then ate asia dogs.
Then vomited skinny lattes, coke and whisky, and hotdogs covered in kimchi in the pit. @_@

I wasn't there when it happened because I'm not retarded enough to go in the pit, but the after math was pretty nasty looking.

Either way I had an awesome time and got two great tshirts. They're such a great band. : )

Now for something completely different.

I had P.E. today and I forgot my sneakers and had to do it barefoot. My feet went from pink to red to blue to purple and finished with a sickly yellow. I actually had to run in front of the class, I kept slipping and I waddled flat-footed like a drunk walrus or something… or even a dunk duck!

Let's just say I will never take socks for granted. Ever.
