I was at the humane society today and our foster dog's adoptive family just happened to be there. They seemed SUPER nice and loving! And Katie was so happy to see me. So glad to see she went to a good home. Just hope the puppies all get good homes as well. : )

ARGH!

Well, a couple of days I threw my new project script at a friend to see if he has any pointers on the whole thing. And well… crap…

Apparently the characters are a bit flat, the story's somewhat predictable and the whole thing lacks invention to make an “old story seem fresh” (not the exact quote).

So now I'm stuck trying to figure out why it doesn't exactly work (whereas the novel which runs off similar themes, does… which he also read) or whether maybe he's just too sophisticated reader for something that's simply heroic fantasy in alternative history clothing.

One thing that did hit me though and actually made me stop and think was his question “well, what does make the main character interesting?”… and I really didn't know what to answer!

So it looks like a bunch of rewrites is in order, heh.

Now I'm stuck wondering whether should I try to take this apart straight away and do some rewrites, or wait a bit and focus on another project for now.
Or maybe just go ahead and start thumbnailing and changing the story on the fly.

Or maybe take that goddamn novel I wrote 2009 and break it into a series of graphic novels (the writing in there is very visual so it'd work well most of the time) and do that instead (since I don't think I'll get it back from proofreading this year either). I'd still have to draw horses, heh.

Meanwhile I'll try to focus on finishing the short comics.

I believe the correct phrase is “whippersnapper.” Kinda reminds me of the first time I posted comics online. I think it was the mid 90s? I think AOL 3.0 had just come out. AOL had a section for kids where you could post comics you'd made. I didn't know that there was an actual web comic community gestating out there- I just thought it was cool that I could make comics and put them online :3

100% drawn in MS paintbrush with a mouse, nonetheless. I was so excited when I discovered that if I copied and pasted an image, the background color would paste as transparent. It was awesome because it opened up so many opportunities for shading. I think the kids nowadays would call that effect an early version of “layer masking” :3

JOIN PAINT FORCE ASSEMBLE HERE

It'd be cool if you did.

Yesterday I played Yugioh.

No I'm not kidding.

Me and my friend played 7 duels and I won every single one.

I am the king of games baby.

I also wrote a short story called Writer's Block only because my brother decided he was going to stay up and write a slasher fic because he felt like it.

I also have only one day left in my vacation and I'm kind of screwed.

I did nothing.

And now this enter button is annoying me.

And the thread I made seems to be doing well. :)

Maybe I'll have gotten more right than I thought.

My doctor just died in a plane crash on the hudson river.

He was like family… he had two little girls under the age of 5. I don't even…

: |

I feel so bad for his family.

Wow… went and preordered Duke Nukem Forever, though not the “Balls of Steel” edition. I love the character, but not so much that I want a bust of him (along with a comic, a book, some dice, casino poker chips, playing cards, stickers, etc…) on my desk. Still, I find it amazing how far Duke has come from his days as an Apogee shareware game. I'm glad none of the kids of that day decided they want to be “just like him” when they grow up though…

While my nieces are cute when they ask me to get the latest Pokemon game so I can play the game with them, sometimes I just want to play a game where I get to blow stuff up… with the thought of saving the World in the distant back basement of my mind. :)

I finally broke up with my girlfriend. I've been wanting to for a while but it's hard to do that to somebody. I don't think I've ever done it before. I really care about her tho I hope we can still be friends.

If you said that she will probably try and kill you. Joking side, most people are okay given time. Unless she is a psycho bunny boiler… if so put your pets in hiding.

Wow… downloaded this 3D creation software called Blender. And it looks prety complicated. Luckily the site has lots of tutorials I can watch. Maybe once I'm done learning how to model in Blender I can start making comics or movies with it? Hmm…

Now I gotta download Unity again. Forgot to reinstall it since my last hard drive reformat (which was due to a virus)…

Dangit… I gotta stop drinking this canned Korean ice coffee… Just thought of our beloved Drunk Duck… except it had a tuft of blonde feathers on its head, shades over its eyes, a red tank top and a belt with a nuclear hazard belt buckle… and he's standing over a pile of dead hunters with a double barrelled shotgun in one hand and a large bottle of beer in the other… O_O

I've always been scared of planes for these reasons.

Ok, I think seeing that there's only 3 days left till the end of February (including today) and I'll be pencilling a 6pager so most likely won't finish any inks in that time I think I can summarize my output already.

I have completed 54 pages so far. In two months I have beaten my entire last year's output (in complete pages that is, since a big chunk of this material was pencilled during my “christmas frenzy” so pencils could count for the last year) and if nothing goes awry, I still have another month for drawing :D
I'll try to get 30+ pages done.

So the 200 page project is currently on hold as I rethink it and do necessary rewrites.

Haven't decided what other big project I'll tackle instead. Maybe my vampire book, who knows.

You're talking about the time stamp, that's currently saying that 10:58am on your post? Yeah, it's US central time, which is the clock that Drunk Duck follows. There's nothing really that you can do to change that so the only way to get your clock to match up with the Drunk Duck time is to move into the Central time zone.

My capital is being hit by series of earthquakes at the moment. Nothing phenomenal though; the largest one was in the morning, measuring around 4.0 Richter. Experts are saying that it's going to continue for a while so I guess I'm in for a bumpy ride.
Those were my two cents.

They found the cockpit in the river totally intact with no body.

Maybe it was a scam to run away.

That'd be awesome.

Meh. I live in a place where this is common so I'm not losing sleep over it.

In fact, last year I hiked up an active volcano to take pictures of the ongoing eruption. That was few days before it escalated and became globally known as the plain grounding, unpronounceable volcano.

I made a blog about it in this forum.
P.S. Please don't post in the old thread or else you'd be guilty of some serious necroposting.

Posting in a really old thread that has dropped off the first page. Only do stuff like that if you seriously want to revive an old topic for a good reason.

This is one of the few advantages of living in Kansas. Yer all working on MY time! Actually, for some reason I assumed that it displayed local time. It never occurred to me that my native time zone was alpha dog in these parts.
