You know what sucks? Inflations.
I keep buying the same drawing notebooks for 100 yen and now they are 30 pages instead of 40 and my favorite pineapple flavored shochu that used to be 9% alcohol is now 7% alcohol and it costs MORE.

Been a little bit behind in the updating cuz I've been preparing for my knowledge test to get a moped driving license. I've done the test now and I passed. So I've finally earned my first ever driving license. Maybe one day I'll earn a car driving license, though I've tried so many times to get it and never succeeded.

Congrats man! That's quite an achievement!
I'm almost half a century old and have never gotten any kind of moving vehicle license. I'm just obstinate at this point.
The biggest thing I have ever driven was a 55 meters long, 33 meters high, and weighed 344 metric tonnes. Didn't need a license for that haha!

Bunch of fun coming my way next week. And by “fun” I mean “flood”. Guess which person living close to river will have no time to draw anything new right now.

Lost the SD memory card with my current stuff on it.
Was tentatively planning on panicking and what not tomorrow.
BUT, I upgraded it a few weeks back and most of it was on the old SD disk. So, after downloading the finished pages from DD and else where it looks like I might have lost about 22 art files.
The lost files were just character designs I was working on that weren't going like I wanted anyway.
If I find the card cool. If not, it could have been a lot worse. Many of you have had worse computer issues these last few months.

_______
I noticed something dumb and now I can't unnotice it 🤣
You know how there used to be that stupid meme of British people having bad teeth? Well America's seem to have an issue related to that:
FAKE TEETH 😅
I've been noticed ng that in American TV shows now. So many people have “toooo” perfect teeth and it looks stupid, like when people put human teeth in a tomato or a dog or something 😅
All I'm seeing when I look at one of the fake teeth people is a dog with dentures 🤣

It's less of a meme and more of a cultural stereotype. But yeah, American celebrities do tend to have teeth that look way too perfect, and they even mention that in toothpaste commercials now: if you use such-and-such toothpaste, you too could have that “Hollywood smile”!

I hate to break it to you but British people increasingly have fake teeth now too, and almost every media presenter. Younger Brits often have Turkey teeth, so called because they travel to Turkey to get them, where it's considerably cheaper and the dog with dentures effect is considerably worse.
I think the ‘British people have bad teeth’ stereotype is a side effect of the American healthcare system, where the goal is too squeeze as much money out of as many people as possible. If you can convince them that all teeth are ‘bad teeth’ unless they conform to a certain look, you have a license to print money.

Thing is dental health insurance is pretty new and very spotty in coverage and really doesn't cover dental implants very well. I just got one to replace a forty year old cap. Lots of hoops to jump through to get coverage. And can't do it if just cosmetic.
Now if you just pay– yes it is a license to print money. Thousands of dollars and it's a horrible experience. Is it better than bridges and dentures? Probably because it's permanent. Is it better than a liquid diet and soft foods? Chewing real food is nice. Getting it for purely cosmetic reasons is stupid but chewing is nice. But the insurance only pays for so much and if you don't have money get ready to suffer.
Someone wants all implants for cosmetic purposes? You're setting yourself up for a lot of time in a dentists chair, lots of money and upkeep and replacement will really suck and cost even more.

I just got a single tooth done last year, with a root canal and a cap - whatever it's called. I dunno.
That alone cost me a few thousand and MANY appointments. OMG I couldn't face a whole mouth of that.
The “perfect” teeth just don't look good because they're not perfect, they're artificial and weird.

Dentist wanted to put in four implants. Insurance said they were cosmetic and only approved one. I have some uneven teeth that are partially behind another. Lots of flossing. Dentist wanted to fix it. If I had known what the one implants entailed I would have said no right off. One was bad enough. He pulled one tooth. Had to set up a whole bridge inside the upper jaw and a bone implant. Then I had a temporary for six months while it healed so I could get the permanent one.
Once all that was done I had to have three fillings replaced in my rear teeth. I'd hate to have my brother's teeth with a couple of bridges. I still have my teeth and they are pretty healthy. Though with that irregular spacing, lots of flossing. Food gets stuck in there a lot.

I've had all but one filling replaced; had the next-to-last one replaced yesterday, last one next month. $200 a pop. Dentists are also really, really urging me to have my wisdom teeth removed, especially my bottom one because they grew in sideways, but I keep putting it off to avoid the cost and the pain - even though they say the older you get and the longer you put it off, the harder it is to remove them.

Teeth and weird. They're one of the hardest, strongest parts of our bodies, next to bone. But they're made of one of the lightest, softest metals- Calcium…
But then again it's NOT in its metallic state and calcium is a major part of marble- one of the harder types of rock.

I went to get a dental check up in an Asian country thirteen years ago and they found seven cavities. It cost thirty dollars to fill each one in, which would have cost $210 for all seven fillings. They were going to do it without anesthesia, but I was willing to front the additional $10 per filling so that I would not have to feel any of it. The final cost was $280 for seven fillings, which is not bad.
One decade later, the preventative work paid off since the dental hygienist did not mention too many noticeable cavities during a routine cleaning.
==
Get those wisdom teeth removed before they become seriously impacted. I was wide awake during the entire surgery using only local anesthesia and laughing during the extraction because they kept gradually increasing the doses of laughing gas. I felt nothing, but saw everything and it was a first person point of view horror movie.

My wisdom teeth came in perfectly so my dentist at the time said there was no reason to get them out. Just make sure to brush back there. I try. At this point they are not coming out.

My mom and her best friend both have had cataract surgeries.
My mom has had so many surgeries throughout her entire life that she actually has built up something of a tolerance/resistance to anesthesia - so much so that when she had oral surgery maybe over a decade ago or so, the surgeon kept barking at her to go to sleep because she was awake during the procedure.

I love Frankenberry, it is one of my all-time favorite cereals, and I always wait to stock up on it every year at Halloween, but with that being said, I am nowhere nearly as unhealthily and ungodily obsessed with the stuff as this dude is with Boo-Berry. . . .

I thought my dental woes were over earlier this month when supposedly stress induced toothache led to getting four fillings done. They needed sorting out anyway, but now supposedly stress induced toothache has caused said tooth to crack open like a pistachio nut. I don't want to think about how much this is going to cost in case supposed stress causes any more to explode.

When I was a little kid and still ate breakfast cereal my fave was just simple ricebubbles. Snap, crackle and pop!
I found the fancy themed and coloured stuff to weird and overdone haha!
But then by mum stopped buying ricebubbles and switched to Wheatbix, the most boring bland stuff in existence.
So I stepped up my game! Each bowl of that stuff for me would consist of teo bricks of Wheatbix, a spoon of sultanas, a spoon of honey, a spoon of sugar, two spoons of powdered milk, then more sugar and then finally milk, HAHAHA!
I at that for years! It was a creamy, wheaty, sticky mess but s tasty.
I stayed as thin as a skeleton too so it didn't contribute to weight gain even a little bit.
These days it's two pieces of well done toast with margarine and Vegimite, and a cup of English breakfast tea with milk and one teaspoon of sugar. XD
That's all I need ^_^

Dentist took one look at my cracked tooth and declared it a total write off. He had it out within ten minutes, which is a lot cheaper than the dreaded root canal, but tinged with sadness; I had grown attached to that that tooth.
On the plus side he couldn't aneasthetise the immediate are due to swelling, so had to numb my entire head instead. The high hasn't worn off just yet.

I know I talked about this before - more specifically about one specific letter- and I hate to sound like I'm being a snob when it comes to this sort of thing, but I have to admit that this is something of a pet peeve of mine that I've noticed has been growing lately, and that is. . . .
The Anime Ace font.
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against this font whatsoever, it can be an appealing font to look at, and I can see why it's so popular . . . mainly because it's free, and therein lies the problem: this font has become so overused in comics (both amateur web comics, and even professional printed comics) that it's gotten ubiquitous - you can almost tell that somebody is using it for the word balloons in their comics simply because it's readily available and it's free.
Like I said, I know this is making me sound like a snob when it comes to comic fonts, but with such a vast arsenal out there from different sources (Comicraft, Blambot, and others) with all kinds of appealing and neat-looking fonts, it would be nice to see more of a variety in comics out there. Granted, I know a lot of these fonts cost money and are ridiculously expensive (I confess that up until 2023, I was using pirated versions of some of these fonts, until they were brought down in price for a huge sale, so I went ahead and legally purchased the official versions to take advantage of the sale), but even so, there are other cheap and even free alternatives out there to Anime Ace.

Anime Ace 3 looks really nice and has all the punctuation and special characters that plain Anime Ace lacks. Still wedded to Zud Juice.
There are other fonts that have extended and compact letters in addition to the normal style so you can do all kinds of stuff.
Might be the name too. “A” name – “anime” “ace” are all great key words. And it only takes one popular comic to make everyone want to imitate it. Some web comics sites are just the same half dozen plotlines/characters done again and again with different names. So why not all the same font too?
One thing is successful and popular, everyone has to copy it. Just start up the Xerox machine. But remember to change the names. All the same names used again and again, but mixed and matched to make it seem like it's something different. But it isn't.
