That's right! Submissions for the DD 2022 Awards' Red Carpet are now open and until August 15!

The Drunk Duck Webcomic Awards is the peak event of DD, hosted by the awesome Niccea, sort of like our own webcomic Oscars. This means that they get to have their own Red Carpet, hosted by me and Niccea, and EVERYONE is invited!

Who is “everyone”? Why, your webcomic's characters! For the morning party, they will dress in their usual attires as they are in your comics and pose for a group photo.

In the evening, they will walk the Red Carpet, dressed in their finest, poshest, most extravagant formal outfits. (This comes complete with descriptions from the DD Red Carpet Presenter of course!) Then, just before the Awards Ceremony begins, they will pose for another group photo in their formal wear.

The Red Carpet event is designed to be fun for everyone and to give yet another opportunity for anyone who wants to showcase their comic and its characters, regardless if their comics have been nominated for an Award.

How it works:

You submit two pictures until August 15.

A. One pic of up to two (2) of your comic's characters, dressed as they usually are, standing in a way as if facing a camera. (Or trying to) They can be together in one pic, if you choose to submit two, or in two separate images.

B. One pic of those SAME two (2) characters, dressed formally for an event equivalent to the Oscars, standing to have their picture taken (or trying to). They can be together in one pic, if you choose to submit two, or in two separate images.

ALL IMAGES YOU SUBMIT MUST HAVE TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND!!
If you send me any pics without transparent background, I'll simply return them to you and ask you to resubmit with transparency.

HOW TO SUBMIT

1. Post the CASUAL IMAGE ONLY on the Red Carpet forum as soon as you have it.

Keep the Formal Image SECRET

2. Send the FORMAL IMAGE ONLY to me via email at tantz.aerine (AT) gmail.com with the subject line Red Carpet 2022. DON'T PQ ME! And please remember the subject line so I can find your images easily when I sit down to make the composites.

From these images I will create:

* One wallpaper with ALL of your characters in a group photo, in the “daytime party”, dressed normally
* One wallpaper with ALL of your characters in a group photo, in the formal DD Venue, dressed formally
* A special dedicated image of your comics' characters walking the Red Carpet, which will be shown in the DD Awards webcomic before the Awards begin, where there will be commentary by the “Red Carpet presenter”.
